Finished one right this minute. Good pattern. Al ittle guesswork involved and some personal toutches were added. I used tuck locks instead of buckles an sewed the front grain to grain and the back flesh to flesh. Very happy with the outcome
@angiebaer8049 Жыл бұрын
I made this for a friend and it turned out beautifully. I changed the front buckles to have magnet closures and I lengthened the handle attachment straps to add a stitch line in front of the rivets for more strength. I still am not sure what to do with the inside side flaps. I just left them loose but maybe they could've been attached? Anyway, thank you so much for the pattern and video. Fantastic!

This is printed on 8.5" by 11" pages. I believe if you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can select the "Poster" button when printing, then add "Cut Marks" and it will print with whichever page size you're using.

What kind of paper I can use to print the pattern?
@legacybrandleather4 жыл бұрын
I used thicker card stock. If you don't have a way to print these large enough, I gave the overall dimensions of the larger pieces on the pattern so you could tape paper together, like I did in the video. You could also tape regular paper to a thicker material and cut it, i.e. card stock or even cardboard could work. I hope this helps! If you end up making it, tag me on Instagram @legacybrandleather. Amazing project! Just one question: what do you do with the ends of the side panels? Are they secured somewhere on the inside?
@legacybrandleather3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The side panels just fold in so that the bag does not buckle and protects the interior contents. However, you could do without this and cut down the flaps. Or, you could include a zipper closure. Cheers!

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader. @@legacybrandleather Thank You! I know what I'm making my dad for Christmas. A few more questions, what is the spacing for your stitching irons? What weight leather were you using? I'm excited, I just finished making my first leather tote for my cousin and I cant wait to get my hands on making something like this. I wish my stitching was a nice looking as yours. Last week for practice, I stitched about 20ft of strap to work on my stitching but I still cant mimic that perfectly robotic stitching look. watching videos like yours really gets me hyped

I don't know why people design the handle like that. The leverage under weight will tear the rivets out in short order. A leather strap at each end of the handle that travels down either side of the bag in the same way the shoulder strap travels down each end of the bag should be used. Anchor by stitching instead of rivets (you can use rivets IN ADDITION to stitching if you think it will help) and it will be much sturdier. Stitching is extremely strong this way because it spreads load tension over many stitches, whereas with rivets the load is all supported at only two points, those being the two inner rivets closest to the handle on either side. Nice design otherwise!

I would hope anyone who has all these tools already has a pattern like this or similar. You know since you have all these specialty tools. Also this video as I’m sure you gather is not a step by step follow along. You should know what your doing as a professional leather craftsman. This video is only meant to promote the leather manufacturers product. That’s it. It’s just this creators way to earn more revenue though a partnership aka being a products pimp.
