Due to the overwhelming positive response to my first Masculine Theme Journal • Handmade Writing Journ... I am making another one as a step-by-step series of tutorials.
Thank you all for watching and sharing your comments on the first journal and I hope this series provides lots of inspiration for your own creativity.
The cover is made with a piece of brown vinyl. In the first version I did some construction sewing, but for this journal I made it just with Beacon 3-In-1 acetone-based glue, which is very strong, dries fast, and can be used on lots of different materials.
There will be three signatures when I'm done, and they will be different than the first version of this journal because - why not ;-))
Journal will measures 9" high x 6-1/2" wide x 2" thick, just like the first one.
I am a classically trained artist of drawing and painting and think of journal making the same as any other composition - I look to create harmony, unity, cohesiveness. When I make a journal I am making an art piece and all the elements need to work together so that I don't make parts and pieces for journals ahead of time, I make pieces for individual journals appropriate for that journal.
I hope you are inspired
Thanks for watching
