I completely concur - using beautiful and high quality materials and tools makes a big difference in the pleasure you experience while working.

I'm a surgeon. I get paid to cut. Looks like so do you. And you cut well! Your work is so interesting, and inspiring. Great video. Thanks. Doc

Thank you! lol.. yes indeed... we both earn our living, and practice our craft, in part, by cutting (and in making the lives of others better as a result).

Very sharp instruments. Very small. Perfect incisions sewn back together in the spirit of my grandfather, who was a tailor, and my mother, who was a member of the embroider's guild - scars you can hardly see a year later ... with other scars that I help my (10,000 + - no kidding!) patients heal for the rest of their (long and healthy) lives. Now, on to carpentry, log-home building, and stone masonry!!

I'm going to rebuild my fireplace with stone but I've got a question, I know I've got to go under the house and lay a stone or block foundation for the weight of the stone but do I have to cut out my floor so the stone foundation touches the stone I'm laying for the fireplace or can I bring the foundation up to the underneath side of the plywood, then start laying the stone on the wood floor inside my living room? Thanks.

Handmade Houses with Noah Bradley Im a machinist and we have a large Makita circular saw that we actually use to cut 3"+ aluminum plate. It's run for years.

Hi Noah, I live just 60 miles or so from you. I was wondering if you, or one of your clients, have any of your homes for rent as a weekend getaway. I really admire the older rustic look of your homes and would like to see one first hand and show my wife.

Is there any special trick to getting permitting to build a log cabin, possibly even with a rock foundation using materials from your own land? Does anyone give loans for this sort of thing? Also, I looked on your website for the cabin plans and couldn't find them. I've been searching diligently for a way to make this happen as I really want to give my wife a special home, something more than a cookie cutter house. She loves the little cabin we live in now but unfortunately it's a rental and it's seen it's better days already. I am more than willing to put in the work and plus I have the skills to do it. Although the permitting and such scares me something fierce. Trying to wrap my head around this has been quite a task but I'm getting closer. Some nice soothing advice to calm my nerves sure would help.

I have been building alternative housing throughout my career and have always found a way... it's one step at a time.

Great video. However, those saw horses are not vintage... they are just old. :-)
@HandmadeHouseswithNoahBradley7 жыл бұрын
lol... I wonder how old vintage is? Thanks for the comment Phil. :)

Why change a design that has worked for three decades? I say replicate the original with the (new) vintage wood.
