Fitting or not, Alphys's expressions felt surprisingly unique. Perhaps Zarla was aiming to portray more in one strip? After all, side stories early on established the lizard's feelings regarding her boss.

It's the idea that Alphys says "haha" out loud because she is so nervous and insecure. She does it to stall for time in a conversation so she can think of what to say. Atleast that's how I understood it.

I have a theory. Asgore talked about letter founds a while ago with sans and papyrus when they where learning to speak english. He said that people can see each other words fisically, so maybe when Gaster uses signs his letters translate to the words that we see in the comic, but if not, they are just windings, and so nobody is able to understand him as they are only seeing weird signs

@@mlpfanclips I do think that’s actually what’s happening sorry I didn’t reply when you 1st said something my brain was being dumb and trying to understand what you said but I remember Alphys saying to the bros when she 1st found them their font look similar to gaster but sans talks in lowercase and Pap talks in uppercase with their own fonts but they can talk in Wingdings they called it their secret language I believe

I really like how when Alphys meets Gaster for the "first" time and starts nervously rambling, Gaster looks endeared. :) He missed her awkward yet fun personality. 😭 And it kinda gives me a heartache that Alphys doesn't remember their friendship, which was obviously very special to them both. 💔 I wish there was a way for everyone to remember... 😢 Anyway, great job on voice acting Phoe! Your Gaster and Alphys voices are the best!

Oh my gosh I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! Alphys recognized his hands, and Gaster is going to work with her to make a sign language translator so that Alphys can understand him. This series is amazing!
