Just realized that THAT'S why nobody submitted a report about anyone falling into the core. Because when you fall in , your soul gets scattered across time and space and you end up almost entirely erased from your original universe , like Gaster. So the core WAS a safety hazard and people probably had fallen in before , but when they did they were erased from memory.

Still in awe of how masterfully they wrote Papyrus's and Sans' character traits as being a believable product of neglect and abuse. Papyrus craving affection and adoration more than anything else, and Sans having self-worth issues and a reserved, distrusting attitude where he tactfully pretends to know less than he does I wouldn't say people usually write the characters OOC, but to take such a backstory that would affect the canon and the characters this much, and weave it in believably is impressive.

That “No turning back.” Really hit close to home.. I felt so bad for Gaster.. Knowing how much pain he’s been through, and to think Sans thought he was bad on purpose.. This story was so beautiful, and it was told with such elegance and grace, I wish to see more stories like these now. This nearly made me cry. And not a lot of things can to be honest..

...he _was_ bad on purpose though. sans was completely right about what he said regarding gaster having choices, even if he didnt fully realize it. there are some situations where people make bad choices because they have no other, better choice, (like gaster killing that human for the first time to protect himself) but that wasnt the case in regards to the skelebros, which is what sans was criticizing him on. the whole project was something he didnt _have_ to do, especially because he had no idea if it would work in the end, and thus have been worth the effort at all. but he still made the conscious decision to do it anyway, even when he KNEW the skelebros were sentient and felt pain, because he thought of himself so lowly and his loved ones so highly he was determined to destroy himself and other people all for a CHANCE of the betterment of their future. he couldve stopped the second he realized they were sentient, before anything was ever done, but he didnt. and that, particularly, is purposeful and wrong, no matter the context.

So I just have to say: they portrayed depression really really well throughout this series. They did a great job not making it out as some overly "edgy" mental illness and just portraying it as it is. This was an outstanding comic for me and still holds strong to this day. Absolutely spectacular job to everyone involved, and I hope wherever everyone is (weather it is voice actors, editors, or the author of the actual comic) i hope they're all doing very well and that they get to do what they love.

yes, totally agree, this story is very sad but sweet at the same time (bitter sweet), the elements of the two are equally balanced, this story can balance angst and heartwarming moments. not all AU stories can balance the two, some seem ambiguous, exaggerated, or forced. but for me, the handplate has so far been able to balance the two very well and is so natural... I also really like how the characters in AU are arranged in such a way and don't exaggerate the trauma that these characters have,... which making this AU deserve an Oscar for Undertale AU of the year

Damn. To think that Gaster tried his best to not feel emotions and not feel attached to Sans or Papyrus, but near the end fails to so is really sad. When he let's Papyrus and Sans cook spaghetti, the 3 of them eat in the same table. Like a family.. It's hard to not feel sad for him. Even after all he's done, you have to remember what he's gone through. And in the end he was *forgotten..* *Just like he feared*

what i really love here is the realistic personalities these two brothers have, after having nobody but themselves for company, having god knows how many tests done on them, the amount of agony they've gone through, their personalities make sense. Papyrus needs constant affection, he's never had anything like that in his life, and when he does get it, it's overblown by his brother, who's only doing what he, in his own mind, thinks is best for him, and what he thinks he can do to support him, which his compliment him and give affection, so papyrus seeks that out in others too, who don't know him, and don't particularly want to know him, he's not well-versed in socializing enough to be able to talk to others. He's confident, sure but he's definitely got his own set of issues that's been engrained into him after everything he's been through. Sans on the other hand is different, he's been brought down and belittled by Gaster, calling him a failure, expendable, a pathetic excuse of a creature who could get killed even from a child. These negative comments have burned into his brain, along with all the tests and hardships he's endured, mentally and physically, he's one hell of a sad-sack. He's lazy because he doesn't think anything he does is of value, he sleeps in because it's more like a safe space to him, and his only comfort he finds in his brother, who's everything to him; it's somewhat unhealthy and worrying to an extent, but what else would you expect after they've had nothing but themselves for years? This comic is so well-written, by far one of, if not the best Undertale comic I've seen
