I happen to own the exact same watch, and it's the most beloved watch in my not inconsiderable collection. I fully agree, I love it because it has a mostly toolish look with a little bit of a trick up its sleeve with that special dial execution. It's not the right timepiece for flexing, though. It holds very little value. In fact it’s one of the worst in the Omega line up. Buy it because you like it and for no other reason.

This is technically superior. The BB58 will look much nicer with its polished and brushed surfaces and better PR.

Omega should have gone further with this watch and made the case and bracelet out of titanium to compliment the anti-magnetic properties of the movement. This would have been a keeping with the original concept of the Railmaster. They could have offered the more "budget" version in stainless for those who like it just for looks.

The fact that the hour markers are not applied makes this my least favorite seamaster. I have the 300m and AT.

Yes, somehow the printed markers stopped me from getting this piece. Thought I'm the only one so particular about having applied markers and indices.

They are not applied but rather recessed into the dial (almost like a sandwich dial). The lumed parts ar cut out and filled up with lume which makes it seem as if they are only printed. I find the lume on the dial of my Railmaster to be even longer lasting than on my Seamaster 300...

I disagree, but it does need to have a case size that matches the movement. If you remove the caseback on this watch, the first thing you'll notice is a HUGE metal spacer. Something about it feels cheap and poorly thought out. All that said, it's still a nice looking watching, though the black dial variant is far superior to the denim dial.

I think the whole jeans dial is super dumb, and they should offer an array of different colors on sunburst dials instead. I wouldn’t want to spend $5000 on something that would remind me of a pair of pants.

That's what makes it so attractive to me. The blue color they chose for the dial is just right for a casual dress watch. This, and the silver dial version are the best variations. Any darker, and the watch would become less distinguishable from all the other field watches on the market.
