Excellent camera work and editing on your reviews as usual. So many good things about the Spearfish model and I agree with you that Elshan is really refining the designs in his catalog. Really like this one! If you haven’t owned a Zelos yet, might be a good time to join the party 🎉

The all black Artem combination gets my vote. I agree that a shorter, slimmer clasp would be nice for a smaller wrist. Your close up of the dial really highlights it's beauty and quality. Nice to see something less cookie cutter for a movement in an offering from a "smaller" manufacturer.

I guess the margin of error for a thin slice of meteorite on a narrow bezel is too great. But that’s not a bad idea.

I'm looking for another adventure tool watch. I'm on a big no date kick now, but given my positive history with Zelos and how amazing this specific model is, I might not be able to resist this one in spite of the date being there. I love everything about this with the indices being one of the biggest standouts. Great review - I'm now subscribed.

I'm sure you already know, but RZE Watches fills this niche. I've got a couple RZE titanium watches...a field watch & their version of a tool-y dive watch. A lot of their watches have no dates, just elegantly designed 3-handers.

Hello I commented on a blacktip review of yours, asking your wrist size. You stated it in this video and we have the same size. I was wondering how you would compare the fit to the blacktip to the spearfish? I prefer smaller subtle watches. On paper blacktip is larger but this does not always indicate how it fits. Thanks.
@levis89 Жыл бұрын
How is the movement? It looks very similar to miyota. Does it's rotor make noise while winding? Or is the rotor sound more or less similar to ETA and Sellita?

I think any company making watches on there own 2 feet and not through kickstarter type things is no longer a microbrand. Hell just look at the zelos collection . 17 different models not counting this one as it is not listed yet.

I think that is a good measurement. If it can produce without Kickstarter can be considered independent.

The Spearfish is NEAR perfect. Just needs a bit slimmer clasp and better colorways. Imo this release has a ton of dissapointing and missmatched color schemes. Will be looking forward to the day they release a premium clasp.
@DesignAtelier2 жыл бұрын
I feel the copper and fume orange dials are redundant. I’m fine with the rest of the colorways.

@@DesignAtelier for me the dial writing clashes too much with the dials. Will probably skip this release , hope they will use the LJP G100 in more watches.
@dialanddram2 жыл бұрын
@@DesignAtelier They definitely are, and I think the copper is the better of them. The orange is gorgeous, but I dislike how the indices get lost in the darkened periphery of the dial. It worked better on the Hammerhead 3. Great review! I think I am likely to pass on this one as well, as it is too similar to the Swordfish, but I definitely hope Elshan plans to continue the trend of higher-refinement.

Hi can I check, my wrist is smaller than average about 15cm/5.9 inch. Can the bracelet be size to fit my wrist? Thanks
@DesignAtelier2 жыл бұрын
Honestly this might still look big on your wrist but the female endlink should give you around a 45mm lug distance rather the 47mm measurement. Your best bet is to get this spearfish and use a 20mm strap that fits your wrist.

Nice review. I'd say that Zelos's lack of consistent stock (i.e., the one-off nature of ALL its releases, not just select limited editions), together with the complete out-sourcing of its manufacturing, defines it as a microbrand rather than as a so-called independent brand (such as Christopher Ward). It's not a question of quality; rather, a difference in business models as regards staffing, inventory, marketing, etc.

TO ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS WATCH: I just received my (Burnt Orange) Spearfish yesterday, and the watch arrived broken. While I was sizing the bracelet, I noticed that it hadn't started running yet and the rotor wouldn't spin. To my astonishment, I could see a small screw wedged between the edge of the rotor and the caseback. Upon closer inspection, it appears this was one of the screws that connected the 3/4 bridge to the mainplate of the movement. Not sure how it fell out (the threads appear intact), but this is a very concerning QC issue from Zelos (and LJP's new movement). The bracelet screws are also very poorly machined and hard to work with -- they strip VERY easily. I reported the damaged movement to Zelos yesterday, but I haven't gotten any reply yet. At this point, I think I might send it back for a full refund unless they can offer me a longer warranty for a replacement. Very distressing :(
