This video should be entitled "Actors who are competitors of my idols or clients so I have to defame them". Chinese Entertainment is swarming with netizens who are paid to defame actors usually by other actors or blackmailers who did not get paid NOT to defame the actors. Wang Hedi is the most bullied actor in C-Ent because of his popularity that elicited much ENVY plus he does not have powerful backers and a big publicity team to defend him. His eyes, among the most beautiful in C-Ent, are much envied because people melt at their gaze. Also, other actors can't match their beauty because they are windows to a beautiful soul, Wang Hedi having been named as among the kindest actors in C-Ent. He was lambasted for being "robotic" in Only For Love. Well, he was playing a cold and stoic character, thus he was playing in character. But paid defamers needed to earn their keep, so they had to throw dirt at him.

CDramaland is full of bullies. It's bad enough that Wang Hedi, having no relatives in showbiz, no powerful backers and no big publicity machine had to make do with low-budget dramas before Love Between Fairy and Devil came along. Defamers for hire, envious haters and blackmailers have also been attacking him incessantly in Chinese social media and now in international social media too. Wang Hedi tried his best in low-budget dramas and got good reviews for his acting in Youth in the Flames of War, The Rational Life, Never Give Up and Unchained Love. His exemplary acting in high-budget LBFAD shows his real ability. Only For Love was supposedly high-budget but the producer absconded with the money. Anyhow, Wang Hedi was able to portray his quirky character well, though haters tried hard to defame him and the drama.

I think your comments about Zhao Lusi were unfair. I also didn’t like the squeaky voice she used in the early episodes of The Last Immortal but she chose to have a character who was just born have a really high pitched voice so that the audience could HEAR the character mature over time. Zhao Lusi also just has a naturally high toned voice. And Song Weilong’s scene that you showed it was obvious that it was supposed to be intensely emotional; the focus wasn’t supposed to be perfect diction while he is clearly going through it. How odd would that be. I tried listening through a lot of the criticisms in this video and I will concede perhaps you had one or two, but as I put in a comment as I was watching, these are really just cherry picked scenes where you didn’t like a particular choice an actor made. That doesn’t make them a bad actor, just that you, and I’m sure others, didn’t like their ACTING CHOICE. This is not enough evidence of a significant issue over multiple projects in time to say they are bad at their job. Most of these actors have been getting a lot of work recently which probably a sign in their favor. If you wanna hate at least be thorough and objective

I can definitely agree with criticisms for diction and pronunciation but all of these opinions are coming from one role when most of these actors have a vast body of work to take into account. I think they make choices, some we like and, obviously, some we don’t. I think it’s not enough to say this is a bad actor without looking at multiple examples of issues when it was a choice that was made knowing they got the role because of their following and in conjunction with producers and directors who also liked it enough to air it.

You are totally unfair to LuSi's voice. She had FOUR voices in The Last Immortal. The one you cringed about, she was a baby hatchling just days old. TOTALLY UNFAIR. She had a different flavor of voice in the darn FIRST episode when she was young Feng Yin. Lu Si's voice changed to the teen Ah Yin, then to the weary 1000 year old Feng Yin. All you have to do was watch the show and compared the four voices and know she was in command of how she wanted to portray her characters. You can not like the drama, but Zhao LuSi's acting made The Last Immortal worth watching. WHAT A PITY you didn't get it.

Your video title is simply CANNOT ACT yet your criticism for some of the actors are centering on their costumes and looks rather than actual acting skills. Labelling an actor as someone who cannot act because of how a drama/ character is written differently from its novel adaptation is by no means a measure of an actor's talent. Your poor pronunciation of some of the actor's and drama's name also shows that you are not a native Chinese speaker and you should not be judging someone on their intonation when you are unable to get basic Chinese words right yourself. China is filled with overrated actors (funny how you missed the queen of overrated actress Esther Yu in this), but your comments are superficial at best with subjective opinions that is irrelevant to your video title (which makes it a clickbait at this point). I apologise that my comments are harsh but seeing that you are a new channel with 500+ subscribers with reasonably interesting content, I wish the best for you and hope you can do more research into an actor's work from all their filmographies and not based it off on only a single work which is not to your liking and just labelling them as simply cannot act. Some actors can make poor career choices (like Nicholas cage who is a phenomenal actor with horrible taste), but that doesn't mean they're not good just like how one bad video doesn't make the whole channel bad. Poor Zhao Lusi taking so much flak from you just for the way she speaks (watching her in real life, her voice unfortunately even when she is serious sounds cutesy and not something that she can change) but yet she is currently one the best actress in China with some of the best acted out emotional scenes.

A lot of the comments were more personal preferences about a particular scene in a 40 episode drama or whether the costumes matched personas rather than actual skills over these actors lengthy filmographies. I agree with some of these picks BUT I have to defend others: Actors need to do was they are told to do. Little of them have freedom to create a character in their own way. So, most of the time, directors and producers are the ones giving those characteristics according to their visions. Example: Wang Hedi in Only for Love was awful and so was Bai Lu. That made me suspect that the direction was the awful one (the editing was trash too btw). Why? I watched Hedi in LBFAD for the first time and I was speechless about how his character could show his emotions through just his eyes (I can't remember why he couldn't talk for the first episodes) and even I, a total oblivious dumb b¡sh, could understand what he was feeling. If that is not quality acting, I don't know what it was. Zhao Lu Si, clearly this critic didn't watch the entire The Last Immortal, because they would have noticed and appreciated how her character was changing in attitude, voice and speech delivery through her differente stages of life, and for the end of the story, her voice was lower, calm and even aristocratic because her evolving character changed. Pretty clear and good vision from the director here and she literally DELIVERED! And as a final note and for my deeply pain I should add to my less known but adored Wang Hao Xuan, whose acting is unintendedly hilarious, overexagerated and cringey in Just to Spoil You. It was like watching the sadistic Xue Yang (The Untamed) made the same facial expressions all over again but tonned down a little because in modern drama it's not ok openly to enjoy hurting people. LOL I can't blame the director there, sorry A-Xuan ):

Only For Love was attacked by what is known in Chinese Entertainment industry as YXH - netizens who blackmail studios and if the studios don't pay, their dramas are attacked. Envious haters of the actors also viciously slandered the drama and actors. Fortunately, there were viewers who were not gullible and did not believe the attacks. These viewers appreciated the drama and the acting of Wang Hedi and Bai Lu. The drama has a certain humor that not everyone can get, especially those who watch the drama to slander it. Those who got the humor were much impressed by the nuanced acting of Wang Hedi and Bai Lu who portrayed flawed but endearing characters. Less skilled actors, especially those who tend to overact, would have ruined the Oscar Wilde flavor of the drama.

Viewers who understood Only For Love were impressed with Dylan Wang's nuanced performance of a cold CEO who is actually a loving and supportive softie. This drama has a campy humor that not all viewers can get and it's important to get the humor to understand the drama and its characters.
