I have to say, when Stray Kids release a Japanese single, I always like it better than the Korean version. And that's even though Bang Chan said that their demos are always in Korean first. The translator that they work with for their Japanese releases does such a fantastic job of making the song flow well, "All In", "Scars", "Circus", and now "Sound" are some of my favorite SKZ releases. "TOP" and "SLUMP" are fantastic too, but those were Anime OSTs. I also think that DOMINO is the only English version track that I like, I'm not really a fan of the other Eng Ver tracks they've done, much preferring the original Korean as I feel the songs flow better lyrically in Korean. The Kor Ver of CIRCUS was a gift to STAYs as it wasn't originally supposed to be included, but Bang Chan said he thought we'd appreciate hearing how they originally wrote the song. Can't wait to see you check that out.

Same here ! Idk if it's because the Japanese versions of some songs are the ones that are released first, so I get used to them, then the kor becomes "weird" but as they said, each language has it rhythm, tempo and all, so I guess circus fits the Japanese one more than the korean

My daughter and I have discussed this same thing multiple times. Here is the question though, are the Japanese versions better than the Korean versions because those are the ones you hear first, and there is a big gap between when you hear the original and the remake. Like Fam (Korean ver.) And Domino (English ver.) took a minute to grow on me because I was used to their original versions. Although Double Knot is my favorite English song.

It kinda feels like they are the original ver no? even tho it's not true and they are made in korean first. Similarly japanese versions of their korean title track i don't like at all. Their japanese is actually really good.. they sang live on “The First Take” a japanese channel, they were the first koreans to sing on that channel and when it was announced, a lot of japanese people didn’t like it since they aren’t japanese, but when the video came out, their opinions changed not just cuz the kids have good vocals live but also cuz their pronunciations were good! People praised them for that! And now other kpop groups have also been going there

3racha never ceases to amaze me. The ability to constantly producing interesting tracks and using appropriate samples is worth my respect and devotion. I listened to it and your reaction. The song still gives me goosebumps. It felt like going to an amusement park where attraction is always around the corner.

They write the songs in Korean, then translate it to Japanese. Bang Chan makes sure the translations are as close to the original while making it pleasant to the ears

I just can't even fathom the level of work they put into areas that they know will be the most overlooked by 99% of fans. Yet they just keep doing it, happily!! Therefore maintaining that level of quality. They truly never take shortcuts. I also love how every single little accomplishment is celebrated as though it's massive... simply because THEY worked their butts off for it, and truly expect so little in return for all they put into their craft. Outside of their own happiness with their music, they don't even EXPECT anyone to appreciate their work. Or for their work to have actual success. They always hope it will, but in no way do they expect it to. There's something about that level of humbleness. You just don't expect to find that when it comes to the actual minds behind the music. Then again, what it means to be the creator of your own music is being mangled in 4gh gen. Now that the companies have realized that fans want the songs to be personal, so they're starting to declar that the idols ARE responsible for it. Meanwhile they almost never specify their involvement, at most, they just say "They wrote the melody!" And then they parade them around and tell everyone about their self producing idols. Which makes my heart hurts for their groups, these are careers they use against other careers... All because they've spread the narrative that there can only be one GG and one BG that's truly popular in each gen. Now, they themselves are having to fight dirty to try stay relevant. What I'm trying to say here is that im juat grsatful SKZ dont have to create a narrative that isnt true, be someone they arent, or have the company puppet them to be considered relevant. And if it wasn't for us fans informing new fans of all the details we do, I don't think many would know they are truly behind it all. They don't seem to have any desire once soever to stroke their own ego. Heck, these young men really are indeed the main contributors in both lyrics and composition, as well as production and arrangement... For their entire discography. (Except their first Japanese track, "All In"... Thanks JYP, they definitely appreciated that gift. Lol) That is AMAZING! Yet they dont feel the need to brag about it. Speaking of Japanese tracks!! "Scars"... "Circus"... and now "Sound"! Yeah, I think it's safe to say they showed "All In" how it's really done. 😜 In fact, they put just as much work into these releases as they do their Korean ones. I have even seen countless Japanese fans talk about how they didn't even know that the members WEREN'T Japanese. They speak it flawlessly and they show the utmost respect when they are working in the Japanese market. So that is wonderful to see. Obviously their love for their language, their country and the music they write for their Korean releases hold special places in their hearts no others can fill. There is much to be said for giving everything 100%, Specially when no one else seems to. Even if doing so receives absolutely nov recognition. Heck, they have lived the majority of their idol lives not being appreciated, respected or seen as actual producers. I guess they have grown accustomed to expecting.... nothing. Lol Oh, yeah, that reminds me, 3RACHA ARE ALL FULL MEMBERS OF KOMCA NOW! With Hannie being their youngest. Pretty awesome, huh? 🖤

Stray kids has never disappointed me. Yes english is my main language but when I discovered the in their predebut phase just their music really really clicked with me. So again this is a wonderful wonderful song paired with a fun smart stray kids creative style dancing so good with it video. I agree with yalls another fire of a song and video.

I do enjoy both versions: the Japanese version has great flow, but the Korean version when translated lyrics hit differently. So glad you got to this one. You have the same comment when my sister heard circus for the first time, she’s like, it’s that Japanese? I thought they were still singing in korean? Coz it sounded so natural, She meant the flow. Fun facts, circus is their first ever Japanese song where they wrote it in Japanese first, unlike their previous Japanese releases where they wrote it in korean then translates it to Japanese. Maybe thats why it sounded so smooth, I mean even their other Japanese songs are good but with circus every words fit perfectly.

Straykids is the only group that i listen their japanese comebacks, cause i like how they pronounced Japanese word clearly, that it actually sound japanese cause some idol that do japanese comeback sometimes irritate because they can't pronounce the word clearly ...
