I picked it up that tee few months back great tool. In new RSES magazine appion came out with one for vacuuming systems, so you can pull from both sides. Appion speed Y. Looks like I might grab one. Take care be safe.

been doing that with a T fitting on my manifold for a long time but I appreciate the diversity of method here. I didn't think of doing it that way and the (vacuum rated) core removal tool is going to be used during vacuum anyway so...

Add the C&D thumb screw core depressor for high side probe and good to go.

May I ask why use a fitting on the high side? I am open to trying new tools and stuff. I picked up these fieldpiece probes cause many subscribers recommended them when my fieldpiece 550 stopped working

Why not put probe on the side charging port? Less restriction.
@carlmccoy6624 жыл бұрын
Some "smart probe" companies are making probes with a built in port. Others will follow, hopefully. Appion is good stuff, expensive too.

It's expensive and gasket on this tee can make a restriction sometimes. Yet it works for what i own
@mrbrummitt13 жыл бұрын
so i have the exact same setup and ive found charging times with my probes to be much longer than my manifold... any suggestions?
@thehvachacker3 жыл бұрын
Check the gasket on your swivel tee doesn’t create a restriction. I have had that get in the way and not press valve core enough, barely opening. Or blocking opening with the gasket. On cooler days sometimes it seems to take charge slower. Yet pressure in can also dictates speed of charging.

@@KrisMoreno-uk9to valve core removal tools don't depress the valve core. you could do this but you'd have to remove the valve core 1st
@afbigfish12 ай бұрын
@@james6794 agreed on new system the VCRT will already be on and core removed when you get to this step so swivel/charging Tee shouldn't be needed. For a service call and quick check this seems like the way since removing the core isnt standard practice for charging. However, if it needs a charge most likely there is bigger issues at hand. However, im new to this and could be wrong but Im pretty sure thats good info.

40 dollars!!? Is there another option ... does it need to have Schrader’s on both both end.?
@thehvachacker3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend a Schaefer on both ends. I have owned this since I bought the probes. I am sure there may be better options. Appoin seems to make the best vacuum tools, core removers, hoses, recovery machines. Their is cheaper options like the flare on access tees head pressure controls or low pressure switches were sometimes connected. Yet then you need to wrench those on

The HVAC Hacker Like everybody else just trying to get threw this virus situation, I hate being in that category of high risk to death if contracting this virus, but my wife is also high risk plus she is a CNA at a nursing home. So you know there is that feeling in back of my mind as what if? But I know that you are in the thick of it where your at, so I hope you and your family is staying safe
