When you go to Redondo pier, you make me miss home. We always eat at the pier, especially at El Torito. My favorite Mexican restaurant. Yummy.

Islands has one of the BEST burgers in LA. They will make them the way you like them cooked and they always get it right. I have no idea what you were eating at first, I only know their actual menu. And their menu is beautifully printed, listing the many burgers they make…all mouth watering. My favorite is the ‘Malibu’ which has bacon on it. My other favorite is the ‘Wave’. Their fries are THE BEST IN LA!!! And their season salt (which you used to be able to purchase) is fantastic. Don’t know if they still do this or not but they also refilled the fries if you asked. Hope they do! There are also some great desserts and a full bar. Sadly, my old go to in Westwood Village closed so I now have to go to the Manhattan Beach location. It’s wonderfully upbeat and fun to go there but they are a bit of a distance now (speaking traffic speak). However, the trip is always well worth it!!!

Question for your annual Q&A video: have either of you gotten Covid or food poisoning from your travels and foodie experiences? If you did get Covid, did it affect your taste buds? Thank you! I watch and "like" all of your videos. I appreciate the time and effort that goes into the editing. I like that you focus on the food, and not on yourselves as other food bloggers do. Illustrations are great! Who does them? I thought I remember something about Lisa doing them, is that correct? There is a good variety of fast food, sit-down restaurants and high-end restaurants. I look forward to more foodie content in 2023!

Hi Frances. We finished filming the Q&A video, but we'll answer your questions here. Yes, Lisa got covid from work at the beginning of 2022. Luckily, I didn't get it and she only had minor symptoms and still was able to taste food. We had a couple weeks of video backlog so it didn't affect our video release schedule. My parents, my siblings, friends, and I used to love going there to crack crab back in the day. We also loved the arcade that was there. Thanks for sharing your day with us. I love your new Apple Watches! I was looking to upgrade ours. 😊 Lisa…..loved the Chef’s Combo that you chose at El Torito! That’s exactly what I would’ve chosen, along with the albondigas like you did. I’m all about beef birria and potato and chorizo-whether it’s taquitos or tacos. I just Yelped the location closest to where we live! The first phone call I’ll be making later on this afternoon, will be to El Torito, to ask how they handle shellfish allergies. Hi you two! Islands used to be one of my favorite hangouts in college. But the original location near me closed prior to pandemic and is now a car dealership. And the one down the hill from me just does not have the same food quality. Ok you two my travel bucket list is getting longer adding Redondo Beach for Tony’s and The El Torito. But it reminds me we have a lot of newer burger places I need to try here in my area. And the same for El Torito it has vanished in my city…I miss the chips and salsa! And my enchiladas!!! Look at that amazing view! We only had nice view of parking lot! Lol! Shopping oh that’s my favorite!!! Yes I love Williams and Sonoma and Sur La Table…my secret shop the sales unless it’s a limited edition item that you need ASAP…These CA storms in our state has put a damper on our travel plans. We will see…love seeing you both so happy, healthy and having fun!!! Come on everybody let’s make 2023 and live our best life…no excuses!!! Take care and be safe!

Another great video!! Used to go to Manhattan village mall in the late 80s and there used to be a place called tequila Willie's Mexican food and it was so good but too bad it closed. Islands was always a favorite as well. The tacos and chips and salsa were our favorites but the burger looked good too! Love your hang out videos!! ❤️

The food scented candles are the best. The wife and I love the candles from bath and body. I love the food scented car freshners too. We only get food scented candles. Apple cinnamon is the favorite.
