This album is a compositional masterpiece. So many different styles and elements woven together to create the perfect sound and atmosphere. Once you get used to the Mongolian instruments and vocals and can see past their initial "exotic" appeal you realize the absolute genius of the songs. Also comparing it to other albums by Hanggai, they really created their magnum opus here in my opinion.

Can't say I like them better than The HU. But I do like them. I just wish I was able to get this particular album on iTunes. Others are available, but not this one. I particularly wanted Samsara in my playlist after seeing them do it on one of those Chinese shows on KZbin, but now I see the whole album is great. Amazing what happens within the KZbin algorithm when once one gets into Mongolian stuff!

@@Desslosh this have perhaps something to do with censorship in China. Even if they present thier art and music on platforms who are band in China, they still could get problems with the government at home, so they have to delete it. That is what I think. Because its always Chinese bands mysteriously disappearing or thier song disappearing. Its my theory

@UNIDENTIFIEDACCOUNT none Are you serious?It is still available in NeteaseMusic, a Chinese Spotify. NeteaseMusic might buy out the online rights of some Hanggai's albums.
@longzheng80943 жыл бұрын
@UNIDENTIFIEDACCOUNT none As far as I remember, I never found the Hanggai was censored on the Chinese internet. Before NeteaseMusic, they can be found in Tencent QQ Music. But due to the copyright issue now it is available in NetwaseMusic only since last year or 2019. I read a few reports of the issue of the inner Mongolian curriculum change. Delocalization in the language curriculum is definitely happening in the whole country for years, some dialects and minority languages have been damaged. but CCP tries to erase the whole language or culture of one minority? It is hard to agree with you. As a minority in China (Hui), I think what CCP really concern about is localism rather than the language, no matter they are a minority or not. Sorry for my English.
