WHAT?!?! Did Merv say he wasn't "comfortable" with his voice when he sang with Take 6? Merv was a beast on the vocals during his Take 6 days!

FANTASTIC interview with Mr. Warren. I would love to see Mark and Merv there together sharing stories of their pre-Take 6 days AND their experiences working together on songs for Take 6.

Im from Harlem and started playing basketball at age 6. I did so all through elementary, junior high, and high school. My college CCNY in NYC, didn't have a basketball team but I continued playing in summer leagues etc. After marriage I continued playing in various leagues - right up to age 70! I'm now almost 83 yrs old and my knees are completely destroyed from all those years of playing ball. I declined having orthoscopic or knee replacement surgery so I now live with daily stiffness and pain. I can see the basketball court from my building, but now I can only look. My point in all this Claude, is that you have a lot of basketball playing years ahead of you, perhaps into your seventies or eighties....!!

I think Mervyn Warren is the guy behind the music of the song " joyful joyful Lord we adore you " for the movie Sister act???? I stand to be corrected...

So much talent in one group. Regardless of who was or is in the group, the sound is very unique. Wish I had known about this show sooner. Great interview.

Take 6 is one of my all time favorite groups, but I have to agree with some of the folk on the old Take 6 message board. The sound of Take 6 before and after Mervyn is different, not necessarily better, but different. The 'flava' he brought to the group was unique and incomparable!

I so loved working with Mervyn here in Nashville, TN before Q. Jones snatched him up. Marvelous, Magnificent composer, arranger, songwriter and producer. Not to forget a great singer. I so miss working with him. Musical Mastermind!

I find you to be a very interesting person. I love the way you share your stories, you always bring the laughs and the truths. I appreciate your FB exchanges, you give your followers so much luv! I am one that popped up outta nowhere, entered your house so to speak, and will always keep it respectful. As Mervyn said, some people seek attention and that's so not me, I enjoy sharing my time with those I appreciate. Especially those who've helped me through life's journey, and I happen to take 6 voices along with me. I've learned sooo much more about the group and members, thank you for sharing with us. It's Amazing how God brought yawl together like that, and how your vocals blend soooo well. That ain't nuthin but God's anointing! So when you see my comments, my likes and my loves Mr. McKnight.. I'm not stalkin.. 🚫😆I love to hear what you're talkin!👏👍💞💋

Wow how dare that person say you couldn't sing. She probably was having a bad day and was definitely looking for a reaction. You did right by deleting that person.

Merv is the guest on this show, and yet 7+ minutes into the interview, he FINALLY gets a word in edgewise. Even then, just for a quick moment before Claude jumps right back in and goes on n on n on n on...

back in the day, one of my favorite groups (and now probably in my TOP 5 groups) was Rare Silk. Did you know that group? They were really different than T6, Alliance or Man Trans...

Grammy's, awards, and other accolades does NOT translate into everybody thinking you can sing. I am not a fan of his individual voice, however God placed him in the perfect setting! He found his niche! I LOVE how he sounds in the space of take 6! His voice and the way he sings make them sound unique, and not just another acapella group! Kudos, and I'd go see them anytime... and pay money! But individually, by himself I don't care for his voice, and the way he sings..... AND THATS OK. ITS NOT AN INSULT, it's just how I feel! GUESS WHAT, I can only listen to a couple of songs in a row OF MY OWN MUSIC, I don't care for my tone after about 2, or a song and a half! LOL Am I insulting myself? Should I block myself? Nah, it was ego bruising I think! It happens. Anyway, be blessed. And don't block me Claude! LMBO Then again if you do.... 🤷🏽♂️

My take...There are sooooooo many singers that are "successful" in the industry that cannot sing that the standards have been lowered. Real singers, such as yourself, have to keep holding it down and making sure the message goes forth. American Idle has allowed the public to voice opinions and have given some ok artists a platform that, to me they did not deserve. I'm just sayin...Great interview. Just good people hanging out with good folks singing together, recoding and performing. Hoping for success, and the rest is history. That's why the professional relationships work and are timeless.

What made the woman's comment more crazy is the "you should stick to looking good" part. It's a back-handed compliment. It isn't a compliment at all.

I attended Oakwood in the eighties. It was there that I've met my wife, later and we got a chance to hang .out at Moran hall. Quarters is great sound coming from Moran Hall will be in a conservative place was not the place you expect to hear stuff like Manhattan Transfer so stay and get sound some call it rains but newer voices babe bent the rules and of course I've been benefit and ever since then former for the even my son Gerald end up going to music school in Orlando for sales to learn how to play it right and then exit alloted I remember that we played every musical arrangement at my children and one I loved it enough to play it over and over again we can take to listen to take 6 Special Blend sms tone influences our it out world in many ways that was great message to the music and they are some crazy people working with my pain Marie Berman was on the craziest do probably in the planet but he knows how to get the job done and he knows how to bring that extra OMP up to the group and that's what makes take 6 the best groups, the world has ever listened to
