Took me hours to finish this map today and I'm not that bad, took Nook1e 3mn and he even took some crazy hard shortcuts while at it. What the fuck. that's the most insane defrag vid I've seen so far. Gotta say this map is an experience and I was really having fun playing it (because we were 2 to 4 players at all time) even tho it's incredibly hard.

Hangtime maps don't look that difficult on videos, but when you try them in person, then you realize that there is 60 sections on each HT map ... and a lot can go wrong :)

@@n00k1e I think it would be awesome if you or some other pro defrager could make a tutorial video of the different techniques of Race mode, with cg_drawInputCmds 1. Hangtime is a perfect map for that I think. This is one of the complaints some of my friends had when I introduced them to QL/race mode, there are no useful ingame tutorial.

N00kie! I remember you being a jump beast on Q2! Can you explain some of the basic differences between the physics of Q2 and Q3/QL?

There are few small ones, like less ground friction, slightly more air control and narrower strafe angles in Q3/QL, but the main ones are being able to crouch in air (video at 0:23, 0:53, 1:17, 1:26, 2:24, 2:32 and three times at 2:34), and ramps work in a different way, they all act more like slopes. In Q2 you can jump on the ramp itself and you won't lose speed. In Q3/QL, you have to land at the place where ramp touches the ground, as close to it as possible, but you can't land on the ramp itself as it will almost stop you (video at 3:27).

It is not a mistake, it needs to be done that way. I'm sliding down to then get acceleration from the teleport :)

Oah... well I totally though you bit the dust there. I didn't see a teleporter and it's not obvious.... Or we're all being deceived!?!?!! lol Either way it's crazy awesome you can do all that maneuvering onto the tiny ledges and stay straight and jumps are just so deliberate and precise.
