Keep trying Turk. If the XFL option doesn't work you could try the CFL. I'm from Canada, played Canadian rules in HS and college (K/P) and your style and technique would actually work extremely well in Canadian rules on the bigger/wider field. Plenty of American guys did the CFL route, succeeded quickly then got NFL offers shortly after. Never give up and keep the faith!

@@jmgonzales7701 Canadian rules is a bit different than American. The field is 10 yards longer, 10 yards wider, goal posts on the goal line (rather than back of endzone) so specialists actually play a lot and can influence a game more so in Canadian rules. The Canadian ball is also slightly "fatter" than American, so for punting you need to kick at like 2 o'clock to spiral the ball but you can make it sail way higher/father (Turk's specialty). Because the field is wider and there is no fair catch rule coaches make you punt more between the numbers/sideline with high hang time and your net numbers go up (scouts love that). He'd honestly kill it in CFL if he gave it a shot. Only downside is you'll only make like $75k a year, but it's all paid out during the 5 month season, so $75k for 5 months work and then go back to combines/tryouts in the states afterward with some film+stats. Sorry for the essay.

The NFL is brutally cut throat. For all we know, Turk may have had 1 off day at the start of camp and instantly the coaches may have mentally parked him in the 'meh' category - basically you'd have to ball out every day flawlessly to get back on their good side. It really sucks for specialists as they are usually tossed aside in a heartbeat without a 2nd chance like other players.

I just watched your travel from Florida to Texas and was cracking up when you and your brother were trying to turn off the dome lights. I actually had the same experience after I rented a car and then I could not figure out how to open the gas tank fuel door. Good luck Turk. You have as big a leg as anyone in the NFL. The only criticism a team could have is sometimes its too much leg and results in too many touchbacks at Oklahoma. On the flipside there were a huge amount of times you totally changed field position.
