Did u know that Besame replicate real actual colours from the decade. They find real makeup from the decades and make an almost perfect replica of the colour. Keep in mind that 50cents in the past is not the same as now. Their income was sooo much lower compared to today☺️ i looove the decades videos! I’m really into the 50s and i’m a member of Pin-up Norway😍

Back in the forties my aunt would strike a match, let it burn, take the blackened charcoal part and powder it down, mix it with a little dab of vaseline et voila black eye shadow😊.

I love Besame. Their store/factory was near my house before they had to go to website only. I loved the Snow White Collab. The lipstick was the absolute perfect shade of red for me and it smelled like chocolate.

I have their 1940s red lipstick and it’s amazing. In fact if you have ever watched Captain America First Avenger or Agent Carter, the makeup they used on Peggy Carter was from Besame and because of her popularity they were able to make a colab with Marvel and release 3 different 1940s lipstick and it included victory red. They are by far my favorite.

A not so fun fact about vintage false lashes, is that some were made using fish bladder, and that's why eyeliner in the 30s and 40s got a lot thicker, because they wanted to cover the base of the false lash ✨

the shade Red Velvet 1946 is the shade they used on the Agent Carter tv show. they even had a Marvel collab where you could get the shade in the packaging used on the show!

I showed my mom (b. 1947) this website (neither of us had heard of it) and oh wow, so many options. She really loved a '63 pink, which makes sense seeing she was sixteen at the time. I might have to buy it for Christmas for her. My mom also remembered her mother and aunts using the box mascara, she "oooed" when she saw it. Thank you so much for this video, Hope. Still check the ingredients! Just because a product is "designed for sensitive skin" doesn't mean you won't have a reaction to it! (Case in point: my allergy to shea butter. It's in almost everything, even things marketed as "got sensitive skin.")

As for the blush colors being so much brighter back then. I'm a big history nerd and I've even read accounts of women pricking the tips of their fingers with a pen or a needle and then using their own blood as blush to add a little color into their cheeks. Not like a lot just a few drops. And then of course there's the pinching they would pinch their cheeks CONSTANTLY to get color.

I actually have a Bésame lipstick tube tattoo. It's part of a half sleeve and in honor of Peggy Carter (whose actor Hayley Atwell used the shade Red Velvet in the show and it also looks good on me!) Sorry if you already knew that, I'm just excited to see Bésame products on your channel!

I think they might not offer a full-face option because, back then, certain makeup products we use today simply didn’t exist. For example, they didn’t have products like foundation or eyeshadow palettes designed specifically for a full face look like we do now. Makeup was more limited and often focused on just a few key items!

I love Besame lipsticks. There's a store in a mall I frequent that carries vintage-inspired fashions. They don't have much cosmetics, but that's where I discovered Besame. I just had to support them, so I've bought several shades from that store. I actually love that it's not as massive as most bullets are nowadays, because I'm more likely to finish it instead of getting tired of it and throwing it away. Also, the scent reminds me of MAC lipsticks

MUD Makeup make an eyeliner you spray with water in a spray bottle and use a brush to apply it, they also you buy a case and the eyeliner and when it’s done you buy the refill. They are cruelty free too
