Hamatey roughly translates to the bride’s female in-laws. In the video you see the female relatives of the groom coming to greet the bride. The song is celebrating the Hamatey arriving and describing how beautiful they all look. How their hair is braided, how nice the henna looks on their hand and feet. How gorgeous their dresses & belts look and that they’re all matching. The word “Sheaneen” is hard to translate but it describes the way a beautiful women carries herself/dances and he’s telling them to flaunt their beauty. Correct me if I’m wrong.

@SoRaya it's the contrary. -150,000 years before jesus christ, the oldest discovery of a human family in the Moroccan atlas, moreover it is the oldest discovery on the African continent. Africa is the name given to present-day Tunisia which was called Africa or Ifriqya in Arabic from antiquity to the French protectorate in the 20th century before being called Tunisia and giving the name Africa to the entire content of the most ancient religious burial place of the world is in present-day Tunisia with the capsiens ancestors of all the berberes of the world -15,000 years before jesus christ in Gafsa in Tunisia and is the 2nd oldest civilization in Africa after Egypt with the empire of Carthage. Egypt the first African civilization we do not discuss, Libya with the ancient Berber libous with the famous pharaoh berberes libou who invaded the temple of Solomon the pharaoh Sheshnaq. North Africans are your fathers and you are children.
@wewewowo9603 жыл бұрын
@SoRaya besides, your story can be summed up in the empire of Saba which is an Arab empire originating in Yemen besides the queen Saba is an Arab of Yemen known by all the Arab or Hebrew world, her name is Balqis. and from there the history of Eritrea, Ethiopia ect ect started well later you have them the Aksum empire a mixed people between black Arabs like the Somalis. Your customs and your culture is closer to Yemen than to the Congo for example.
@gt16973 жыл бұрын
@@wewewowo960 well , queen Saba is know to be north Ethiopian / current Eritrean by all Ethiopians and Eritreans . So what’s your point ? And Axum empire use to rule Yemen, part Saudi Arabia & part Sudan in different point of time . Aksum kingdom lasted for a while .. So Who to say your culture didn’t start from us ?? Or maybe you should say we influenced one another . And Yemen is closer to us than congo ( distance wise ) so obviously we should be closer in culture .

La La lol buna is from Yemen 😂 I believe that injera is universal in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia. In fact 🧐, The African horn is the most diverse part in Africa. I did some researches and found out that actually our culture is influenced by southern arabia(Yemen and oman), Hebrews, Persian empires, Indians, Turkish empire, Egyptians , Italians , Portuguese and much more even our languages are very different from our fellow Africans and are closer to asiatic languages Literally thats just a tiny fraction of informations about our history. Like we have traces of everything around us.

@Haben Brhane It is Eritrean song or Tigray but the dance is more like Ethiopian Iskista style something new. Good to try something new it looks good.
@እየሩሳሌም-ቀ6ለ4 жыл бұрын
@La La No this is their culture, we are all the same people and we share the same culture because we are the same people but two separate countries. For example things like genfo they call it gaat I believe originated in the Tigray/Eritrean region and same with hambasha but everyone eats it. I am also Ethiopian but I think it is a little rude to say this in their channel, don't you think? Lets just enjoy this beautiful Eritrean music at the the end of the day we are all Habesha and even more horn Africans that have shared many things over the past thousands of years.
@እየሩሳሌም-ቀ6ለ4 жыл бұрын
@La La I am also Amhara Ethiopian my parents are from Gojam but I grew up in Addis Ababa and now in America and I have nothing but love for all Ethiopians and Eritreans. And all Eritreans that watch our music videos always leave positive and heart warming comments and they are truly loving people the least you can do is be respectful of their culture if you are in their channel. You are an embarrassment to Amhara people, how can you be so close minded person like this oh my God? It is because of the old generation that Ethiopia is a mess right now, the youth is learning corrupted mindset from the past generation. May be you live in Ethiopia I don't know but here in America you will realize just how much rich and awesome our habesha culture is and it belongs to all of us and we can't deny the strong connection we all had as people for centuries. Long live Ethiopia and Eritrea, end of discussion.
