Because there are times that Hank will actually call Connor "son," though more as a term of affection than an actual definition. Kara and Connor's relationship with their deuteragonist (Alice and Hank) is symbiotic. Without Hank, Connor won't discover his humanity and without Connor, Hank will never get over being a miserable shadow of his former self.

OK, my brain came up with a scenario. Connor and Hank are taking Sumo out for a walk after the peaceful ending. Sumo ends up seeing another dog and he gets so excited that he dashes off. Connor is holding the lead, and is taken by surprise and ends up being dragged away. Eventually Sumo stops and Hank catches up. Out of breath, Hank says. "Cole- Connor, are you alright?!" Connor nods but looks at his grazed knee. "Yes, I'm quite alright Hank. Just a graze, that's all." Hank raises an eyebrow and gives him a doubting look. "I know Androids aren't supposed to feel pain, but I've heard Deviants can. C'mon, I know it stings like a b*tch." Hank pulls him up and Connor smiles. "Thank you, Hank." Hank smiles briefly. "I think Sumo has been walked for long enough. Let's head home." And that's what they did.

Thank you for this edit. I'm sitting here crying. I was obsessed with these two and connor's character helped me when I nearly drank myself to death. I still wasn't sober when I met my boyfriend, who ended up a lot like connor, going through the motions in life, very desensitized due to severe abuse and I helped him recover from it and feel his humanity again and he in turn mine. I had some great losses early on in my life that I fixated on constantly and was always suicidal until I met this boy. I mean the Actors for the game already look like the characters (because the characters are based from them) so why the hell not. Like, if I'm not the only person who wants this we need to put up a vote saying that we want this film! Cause if enough people say they want it I have no doubt they would do it. PLEASE, tell me I'm not the only person who want this let alone thought about it? I feel like I'm going insane with how much I want this this game to become a film! XD
