Whats crazy is he's Hank's grandson & probably has the opportunity to be one of the BIGGEST country stars today based on his talent & just because WHO he is. On 1 hand I think he should run with it & take the opportunity to the max by cleaning his act up just a little But on the other hand, hes really doing EXACTLY what his papaw & daddy BOTH did, they didnt conform to society & did it THEIR way. So in the end, I'd say Hank III will be ok

Hank Sr. was country folk of course he cussed. He was a rebel in Nashville and III is taking the torch. Jr. on the other hand has sold out. He's one of Nashvilles characters or puppet if you will. That explains why Jr. hasn't come out with a good album in years.

@dixie3 I argue that if he focused more on songs like this, or ones that don't suggest the worst of beer, drugs, and girls, he would hit mainstream. This is a good song and one that I would not want to hear live (personal preferance to studio music). Swears during live songs don't bug me as much as what you sing about, and if he sings about he not wanting to live anymore and "Dick in Dixie" (I can guess), he won't go far.

Hmmm. I said that kind of gently to get such reaction! You must have woken up on the wrong side of the street this morning, missy! But I stand by it. Profanity doesn't offend me at all. I am a guy. I curse around other guys- in the right setting. Not when I am playing guitar in front of a crowd or in mixed company. He's dishing it out like a 10 year old who just learned to curse! I think it takes away from the art form when it isn't relevant and most of the older generation would agree with me.
