There were all ages standing on the docksides those two nights, including my 2 yearold son asleep in his pushchair, and a rather elderly lady in a woolly hat who was jumping up and down with both tears and a huge smile on her face. Wonderful piece, thank you J-MJ and Honk! XX

We went on the Saturday. Didn't have tickets. There were four of us, I was 21, my friends 20, 19 and 18. We drove down from Nottingham with the hope of getting as close as possible. We followed the crowds until a policeman stopped us to ask if we had tickets. We thought he was going to tell us to clear off but he opened a gate into a little sort of park and said we would see and hear clearly and we would be safe. It was fantastic, such an experience. I laughed and cried. I'd loved JMJ since I was young thanks to my Dad. So glad we decided to just go for it and head to London.

A truly spectacular concert, which brings back wonderful memories when listening to the music. Despite some rain and the train terminating before we reached where we had parked the car and walking miles to find it, it was well worth the hassle a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

@jonathangonzalezankai18454 жыл бұрын
Jarre pregrababa los conciertos, no es exactamente playback que sí lo es, pero del concierto ya grabado y tocado en directo, lo que sí es necesario debido a todo el trabajo visual y tecnológico para que no desencaje
@elintrepidomoncho27794 жыл бұрын
@@jonathangonzalezankai1845 si, tienes razón en eso estoy de acuerdo. Sonidos pregrabados para el concierto. Aún así, sigue siendo uno de mis favoritos.

This was the version on the live CD, which didn't match the performance at the concert. There's a live radio broadcast version which is more 'raw', and reflects what the audience heard, go search for it:-)

Saw this from my garden and listened on the radio one broadcast, personally i think the TV production was poor with far too many close shots of the performers which failed to convey the scale of the overall visual performance.

Not sure who was playing the solo near the end, but it wasn't Honk. I went to the concert with a work colleague, one day at work he said I've got tickets for the docklands concert, would you like to come? It was a strange place before they redeveloped the area, quite sinister at night I thought. As I'm from a rural area, it made the docklands quite imposing. It was worth going just for the fireworks...

I lived within earshot of the venue, for a good 10 days before the concert you could hear the rehearsals. I can absolutely confirm this was played live, anyone who knows R4 can spot the key errors and a couple of timing issues as well.
