HANK VERNON, Scrum Half, American Fork High School Cavemen Rugby ClubAmerican Fork, Utah
Hank has played rugby since he was 4 years old and now is into his sophomore high school year playing rugby. He has developed a great rugby IQ, good boot for kicking, sound tackling, and leadership skills on and off the pitch. Hank lived in Memphis, TN and played #9 for the middle school Germantown Mustang Rugby Club placing 2nd in the TN state championship and was awarded MVP. While in TN, he played for the Panther USA Rugby Academy in Nashville, TN and competed in the Tropical 7s in Orlando, FL and in the National 7s Youth Rugby Championship in Cleveland, OH.
He moved back to Utah in 2021 and played #9 with his former club, the American Fork Cavemen, and lead his U14 team to 5th Place (out of 15 teams) at the NAI 7s in Salt Lake City, Utah. He continued playing fall 7s and into spring 15s as #9 tying for 3rd place in the Utah Youth Rugby 15s state playoffs. Hank has attended various camps: EIRA (Eagle Impact Rugby Academy) winter camp at the Casa Grande Sports Academy in Phoenix, AZ, BYU summer camp, University of Utah winter camp, and Panther USA Rugby Academy camp. He played and trained on the Utah Warriors Academy team this season. He coached the U8s American Fork 7s little league team. He competed in the NAI 2022 tournament with his U16 Cavemen Rugby team.
