Unreal Talent I saw him in Jacksonville FL. In the late 70s. I think Hank jr had a better voice than his father. His father is of course a hall of famer.

Hank Jr.,your dad would be so proud. When he became famous ,he was such a talented song writer & singer but as u sang with love of your dad ,You have one hell of voice that equaled your dad in & that’s how life continues & progresses. You are equal to your dad in respect & honor as things progress with time.He just happened came in the world earlier than you.Two Great Voices!

@@747-pilot If what gdannhardt wrote was true, then you would have to discount that same guy doing Family Tradition: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpWThXqcj7h0eas Even the 90s had some great stuff (and some after that as well). And while true country has all but disappeared, you can't entirely fault the talent -- as you have to factor for the times. You can't replicate the atmosphere of times long gone -- and that environment helped produce what the greats became. I'm not excusing what sucks nowadays, I'm simply saying that there's a reality to it that few people consider. Moreover, there was so much opportunity to be fresh back in the day -- because everything was new. As the decades roll on, it becomes increasingly difficult to do that (especially in a world of convenience). And please, such songs as "Turn It On, Turn It Up, Turn Me Loose" and "Guitar Town" rank with the best ever done: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp_YhJSBi9uInac kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3qxhoN8l6ujp8k And trust me, I know "when country was country" times too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4C4fp2Cgp6Mqck kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYLbiqFrp8ZghKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3OvmKeBi9yjqqM . . .

I was born in 1970 and by the 80's I was a country music man and still am, grew up listen to Hank JR,Waylon,Willie, George Jones, Merle etc... in the 80's and that's how I got to know his music...On the radio, songs like Dixie on my mind,Born to Boogie, Heaven Can't be found,etc...So, I became a Hank Jr fan because of his own music, and not because of his Daddy, Who I also am a fan of....

If there is ever a country singer/artist to be more qualified for the Pioneer Award or to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, it would be Hank Jr, because he was one of the greatest cross over artist and probably one of the first. He can do Southern Rock great, he can sing Blues and Funk good. He's obviously a great Country singer. Just like Elvis, he can do it all. He definitely is one of the founding Fathers of the Outlaw movement with Waylon and Willie. He's just great all around.

@@71fordhiboy all of them, as great as they are, were nearly 20 years older than Jr. He stepped away from Miss Audrey and became his own. Thats Outlaw, by any standards, whether the movement was already smoking or not. His fall in Montana gave him an edge and to me, he stands out as invinciable. His Legacy is no less than those you speak of.

Hank, Jr., is a great country artist. Coming back from that near lethal fall off the mountain side is, indeed, a miracle. As his career progressed, Hank, Jr., did what was best for him, and country music fans all over the world are the richer for it. What he has accomplished as an artist is remarkable.

Hank sounds wonderful here. He has always had a great voice - in his own right. I love to hear him today do the love songs - the ballads - for which he has made me a fan of his. I am glad he has been having a fine career of his own and I only wish he would stay away from the over the top drinking, cussing songs because they aren't what true country music is all about. In his private life it's his own business but not in the public eye. I quit going to his concerts. Thanks for this. - Paula
