This scope is the same Owon SDS1102. I bought one for Us$170 dollars, for this price is one of the best scopes in the market.

Thank you for this video, it is the only clear and concise one available that I could find, that has shown me how to use the scope. When I bought it I had no Idea how to use one, but thanks to you I now have a basic understanding of it's operations.

My Hanmatek DOS1102, which I bought new a few days ago, does not have a built-in power supply. There is only a cheap external mobile phone power supply with a USB connection. This causes some interference and you do not get a clear display on the oscilloscope.

Thanks for this overview and review. my Hanmatek DOS1102 inverts both channels CH1 and CH2 at the same time even though only one channel is selected. Is there perhaps new firmware for the device? I have version V3.1.0

Eine Frage bezüglich des nicht vorhandenen Ventilators. Kann das Gerät dadurch nur eingeschränkt benutzt werden oder wird dieser einfach angesichts der Anwendungsfälle für die das Oszilloskop genutzt werden kann nicht benötigt?

There are no operation limits without a fan. But the oscilloscope warms up over time. Sensitive electronic components age faster. The service life of the components and the oscilloscope can be extended with a fan. That's why I think a fan makes sense. ------------------------------------------- Ohne Lüfter gibt es bei der Nutzung des Oszilloskops keine Einschränkungen. Das Oszilloskop erwärmt sich jedoch mit der Zeit. Empfindliche elektronische Bauteile altern schneller. Die Lebensdauer der Bauteile und des Oszilloskops kann mit einem Lüfter verlängert werden. Deshalb denke ich, dass ein Lüfter zweckmäßig ist.

Wie messe ich mit der Einzeltriggerung ein 1maliges Ereignis ?: Nur Ch1 ist eingeschaltet und man hat zwischen Probe und Masse einen 1kOhm Widerstand, der zu nahezu Massepotenzial führt. Nun schließt man dazu eine 1.5V Batterie von Hand parallel. Ich möchte dieses 1malige Ereignis mit einem Triggerpegel bei 1.2V und der steigenden Flankentriggerung erfassen. Eigentlich ganz einfach, aber mir gelingt es nicht, weil die Triggerkonfiguration immer wieder nach AUTO oder NORMAL aus EINZELN herausspringt und ich das Ereignis nicht aufzeichnen kann. Es muss doch möglich sein dieses Ereignis auch im Bereich von usec aufzuzeichen, wobei man dann das natürliche Prellen bei der Kontaktierung mitmessen können sollte. Haben die Geräte hier einen Fehler oder ist die sehr dürftige Funktionsbeschreibung daran Schuld, es nicht ausführen zu können. Ich stehe davor das Gerät zurückzugeben.

I was looking for a cheap DSO oscilloscope capable of doing a decent XY Mode, because I have seen many that have a crappy XY Mode with a few hertz refresh, really far away from what you see when they display data in normal mode. Unfortunately you have not tested it on the DOS1102.

Yes, that is possible. In the FFT function, the resolution of the frequency spectrum can be changed in the horizontal and vertical axes. In the video I introduce the FFT function from 20:14. The right display shows the settings for "Type", "Source", "Window" and "Next Page". Under the menu item "Next Page" below, two parameters for the resolution of the horizontal axis (frequency / div) and vertical axis (dBVrms / div) can be set. In addition, an offset value in Hz / Khz or dBVrms can be specified for both axes. I did not go into these two parameters in the video. For the visualisation of the entire frequency spectrum from 20 - 20 KHz on the display you can choose a resolution of 2.5 KHz. Hope I could answer your question. --------------------------- Ja, das ist möglich. In der FFT Funktion kann die Auflösung des Frequenzspektrum in der horizontalen und vertikalen Achse verändert werden. Im Video stelle ich ab 20:14 die FFT Funktion vor. Hallo, ich habe das Modell aus 2023. Es gibt keine Einstellung für die Helligkeit vom Display. Unter Utility, Display ist keine Einstellung möglich. Kann mir jemand helfen?? Schön ist der neue 5 Volt Anschluss, damit kann man mit einer powerbank auch draußen arbeiten!!

Cut the back, put a fan, put a controller PCB for the fan and connect it to the power and you are good to go. As for the software - I would love to see Linux support. Probably works with wine or similar but still.

Let's be honest so long as it has a fair degree of accuracy and a decent enough sampling rate you can't go wrong with a nearly full fledged 2 channel 100mhz scope at under $250. If someone has an extra $200 to put on it then they should get something better but if they don't, this is the one to go with.

Merci pour cette vidéo, car celle-ci m'a énormément aidé pour la prise en main de mon DOS1102. La documentation fournie avec l'oscilloscope n'est pas adaptée pour se familiariser avec les différentes fonctions. Sur ta vidéo, je constate que ta version est V4.0.1 alors que celui que je viens de recevoir est la version 1.3.0. As-tu effectué une mise à jour ?

Any idea the current consumption at that 5.5V? I wonder if a small rock solid enough smps could deliver the 5.5V from a lithium pack for a considerable amount of time in order to provide inexpensive portability and isolation.

15W on AC in back of scope, but measured arrouund 2 amps (1.8) on the 5.5V rail

Tolles Video von dir, habe mir das Oszi gekauft, aber egal was ich mache, es lässt sich kein Treiber unter Win10 installieren. Hättest du da eine Idee dazu? Danke schon Mal im voraus. Der Clip hat mir sehr geholfen 👍. Wünsche ein gutes 2021.

On the supplied CD you will find among other things 1. the installation program (DS_Wave_DSO_1.4.2 ... .exe), 2. a brief instruction manual (Digital Storage Oscilloscope Quick Guide.pdf) and 3. an instruction for the installation of the USB driver (USB_Driver_Install_Guide_V1.3.pdf). In the instructions (USB_Driver_Install_Guide ...) the exact procedure for the installation is described in several steps. You should read these instructions carefully. It worked for me that way. Great video! I was wondering if you would be able show the process of installing the extra software and how to connect it to revive better measurements and analysis when using the DSO software? Or if you have a link to the software?

Thank you :-) Right, I could have made a video about it. In my experience, the software of the manufacturer is not very stable. The functionality of the software is limited. Therefore I do not recommend installing them. The Installation is not that easy. it worked for me with the following instructions: 1. To be able to install the software, you have to be logged in to Windows Admin mode. 2. On the supplied CD you will find among other things (You need the CD. Many thanks for this good review. I just have some minor questions: Why do you think a fan would be good? Did you see any operating limitations regarding ambient temperature or continious operating time? Can you connect an USB keyboard to key in the file names? kind regards

The USB interface on the front side is only used with a USB Stick to save data. A USB keyboard will not be supported Best regards

I received the scope today and have not found a X/Y mode for CH1 and CH2 to display a Lissajous figure. Does the scope support that? Edit: nevermind, found it in your video :)

yes, that is possible. Lissajous only makes sense in X / Y mode :-) At the 15:55 position I go into the required setting. But I already saw in the "edit" that you solved the problem yourself. Best regards

The oscilloscope is used to measure voltage. To measure current you need a special circuit with a resistor. This special circuit has not been explained here. You can find the circuit with google (keywords: e.g. ""oscilloscope measure current").

Moin! Das Gerät wird unter verschiedenen Bezeichnungen angeboten. Hanmatek DOS1102, Mustool MDS 2112P und OWON SDS1102. Sind alle identisch, aber unter der Bezeichnung OWON deutlich günstiger. Ich besitze das Gerät von OWON und bin damit sehr zufrieden. An "disadvantages" fehlt ganz klar noch eine fehlende externe Triggermöglichkeit und ein mit 10K doch eher recht kleiner Speicher. Das limitiert doch ganz erheblich die Analyse von digitalen Bittmustern. Trotzdem für den Preis ein super Gerät! Mal grundsätzlich: Offensichtlich (hörbar) Ist deutsch deine Muttersprache. Warum antwortest du auf deutsche Kommentare in englisch??? Deinen Text zu dem Gerät hast du doch auch in deutsch verfasst... Ansonsten recht gelungenes Video

Auch noch Voltcraft, Vevor, Cdek. Sehen alle genau gleich aus. Ich glaube, mit dem eigenen Vor- und Zunamen könnte man beim Hersteller auch welche bestellen.

Sehr informativ. Im Film wurde gezeigt, dass 10.000 Spannungswerte in einer txt oder csv Datei auf den PC transferiert werden können. Kann man auch die Werte der FFT auf den PC transferieren und , wenn ja, aus wie vielen Werten besteht das erzeugte Spektrum? Viele Grüße

The oscilloscope only offers the option of saving data in CSV and TXT format in the time domain. The storage of data in CSV and TXT format is not supported in the frequency domain. In the frequency domain, the data can only be saved as an image or bitmap file. Im Frequenzbereich wird die Speicherung von Daten im CSV und TXT - Format nicht unterstützt. Im Frequenzbereich können die Daten nur als Bild bzw. Bitmap Datei gespeichert werden. Beste Grüße

@@thorstenstraub3657 The oscilloscope and the software supplied do not allow the frequency spectrum to be saved for subsequent processing. The software does display the frequency spectrum. However, there is no way to save the data record in the software. With voltages, this is easily possible as TXT, CSV and even XLS files. I tested it again today ;-) Best regards ------------------------------------------- Das Oszilloskop und die mitgelieferte Software ermöglichen kein Abspeichern des Frequenzspektrums für eine anschließende Bearbeitung. Die Software zeigt das Frequenzspektrum zwar an. Es besteht in der Software aber keine Möglichkeit den Datensatz abzuspeichern. Bei Spannungen ist das problemlos als TXT, CSV und sogar als XLS-Dateien möglich. Habe das heute nochmal getestet ;-) Beste Grüße

hí, i been done a purchase a owon_sds1102 (exact the same as hanmatek_dos1102), i find owon smart tec are a division of LiLLiput "maeby Lilliput are the manufacturer, btw is nice oscilloscope, and works well.

One disadvantage is that it cannot be run on DC power. Another issue that I am having with this scope that when probe is connected to the input unwanted pulses of a 100 mV are generated at regular rate. Tried using the generator rather than home supply the problem still persists. Tried to contact the hanmatek online but could not.

The problem of pulses was solved after the connection of the scope was made to another socket. It works fine.

Hello. On June 2, 2021, I received such an oscilloscope from a seller on Aliexpress. Description of the user from the device kit - tears! Thank you very much for a detailed review of the oscilloscope. It worries me that in my oscilloscope, instead of the letter "N" in the name the letter "И" is written Perhaps I have a fake. The name of the oscilloscope is as follows - HAИMATEK DOS1102 on its body and everywhere else (packaging, documentation) is written "И" But that's half the trouble. I was surprised to find on a very slow sweep that The "ray" along the time axis on the screen goes from right to left !!! I'm in a trance ... How is it with you? What should I do? I wrote to the seller asking for the manufacturer's technical support address. Apparently you will have to upgrade or return it to the seller. Please tell me how the sweep moves in your device in the range of its slow movement along the time axis (X). From left to right as in normal oscilloscopes or as in mine? Thanks for this overview and review. my Hanmatek DOS1102 inverts both channels CH1 and CH2 at the same time even though only one channel is selected. Is there perhaps new firmware for the device? I have version V3.1.0
