To answer your question @1:01:00 (how long did Noa lived?): 1. He lived 950 years before the flood! 2. In the last 100 years of those 950 ... he was building the Arc. 3. the flood ended after 40 years (950+40=990) 4. then He lived 350 years after the flood settled (990+350=1340 years) Meaning ... I don't know if you'll actually ever bother to read this, but here goes. Firstly, I appreciate the journey you're both on and how your different backgrounds and biases may have affected you in the past so this is actually an admirable thing to be searching for the truth. Having said that, don't let ignorance or previous bias colour what you hear from a source in order to bend it towards those predispositions. (Whether conscious or unconscious) Take it at face value and then decide OBJECTIVELY (not subjectively) whether you agree with it or not, or whether it's true or not. The reason I say this is because sometimes you come up with statements that are very jarring because you are imposing your previous mindset to what has been stated. I have no problem with questioning or probing further (particularly when you lack knowledge on something) as that is after all how we all learn. But don't suppose something out of your previous psyche. The entire point is to see if you can find and realise an OBJECTIVE truth. (i.e. from our Creator) A simple fundamental criterion anyone can use is: "Is the Prophet who he said he was?" and "Is the Quran true?" If so then the message is true which means the only logical conclusion is to either accept the message or to deny it. There are people in the world who do acknowledge it's truth and still reject it (unfortunately). It is, after all, a choice in the end. On the above compilation, it is said in Islamic lore that most people up until Noah lived around the thousand year mark (similar to our father Adam) and even after Noah many lived for hundreds of years. Although this is not stated categorically in the Quran, only through sayings of the prophet P.B.U.H and other ancient proverbs and sayings from the Jews prior to that. Never conflate modern day nonsense of Aliens with either Angels or Djinn (That is how the Shayateen *plural of Shaytan*, get you confused and convolute your thinking) In fact, if you look closely at the history of this whole Alien phenomena you'll actually come to realise they are Djinn. (But that's another story. I wouldn't want to be the cause of you getting distracted from the core of your journey) May I suggest you check out 'The Muslim Lantern' (Mohammed Ali) channel on YT. He has a good range of topics that cover many questions non-Muslims, Islamaphobes and even some Muslims constantly ask and covers them well. Also the 99 names of Allah series from One Islam is something I think you'll really like. There are also channels like 'Bobby's Perspective', 'The Muslim Cowboy' & 'The Muslim Sceptic' You can check out for perspectives from reverts to the faith. As for the time period, the average lifespan of humans was actually the same as the age of Adam, peace be upon him, which is 1000 years or less, and it is said in other narrations 1050 years, but knowledge is with God, my brother, and I wish you gifts (Islam) and your honorable husband, and I advise you to listen to Surah Al-Rhaman and Surah Al-Mu’minun, and open your heart to them.
