I found this commentary from the Expositor's Bible; it's quite interesting, you may like it: "[Elkanah] was in a manner reproved of God for not being more concerned about her sadness of spirit. God had treated her sorrow more seriously than he had. God had not said to her that her husband was better to her than ten sons. God had recognized the hunger of her heart for a son as a legitimate craving, and when she brought her wish to Him, and meekly and humbly asked Him to fulfill it, He had heard her prayer, and granted her request." I believe there are desires written on a woman's (or a man's) heart that are there because God put them there, and intends, through them, to draw out our souls in intense, earnest prayer and faith to Him for Him to fulfill and thereby manifest His glorious love and care to His believing children.

Ooh dear! Life expectancy was more than 40 years back then. Remember Isaac was born on a 90 yo old mother🤔. Please don’t trust the false science. In addition, Waiting on God is always a good option.

You're correct, life expectancy went up into the 900s in the first 2000 years of Earth's history, but after the flood, due to atmospheric changes, disease, and relative food scarcity, life expactancies dropped dramatically. Hannah lived about 500 years after Abraham (who lived to 175) and she lived after the years of slavery in Egypt and wanderings in the wilderness. Even today we see populations around the world that are disadvantaged due to food scarcity, lack of hygene, and war-torn countries tend to have shorter life spans than people in advantaged countries. Life-spans can be passed down genetically over many generations and also adapted over time due to epigenetics. So it is actually not hard to see how in the Old Testament, which spans 4000 years of earth's history, has moments in time when people had very long life-spans and at other times, had very short life-spans too.
