I think you’re very wise Hannah to keep Christmas simple all the while remembering the true meaning of Christmas. I have been married for 51 yrs and have spent the last few years downsizing all my seasonal decor. I personally find it much more aesthetically pleasing to see holiday decor sprinkled here and there rather than a cluttered over the top look. I don’t see any moldings and that’s what we see in the US with new homes. My dream would be to live in a Cotswolds cottage. Too bad I’m 5,000 miles away. 😢 I agree about simplifying Christmas. My husband and I don’t exchange gifts. We quit ear,y on. My decor has always been over-the-top but as I get older I’m doing less and less. I even like trees with just lights. Do what makes you happy

Hi Hannah, merry Xmas 🎄. I have been looking forward to this video soooo much, than any other . Little disappointed not seeing the house, though I understand your reasons. Happy your back to your childhood home & family, you have a special happy smile . I agree with you about Xmas presents, take the stress out, it’s not always about lots of expensive presents, even if you give a simple gift that is needed, having family around that’s the best gift. My tree ornaments some our what my children did when they were young, either at school, or school clubs, and their beautiful treasures and I love them more than anything, they hold so many memories and for them too. We do add one new Xmas ornament each year from our travels. Love the chopping boards, such a fav of mine. I have different types and sizes hanging on my kitchen wall, love the effect. (I have to agree and am sure others do it’s not easy to choose a Xmas tree, am freezing the time I finish or their wanting to close)😅. What made me smile was talking about things you’re buying and you come across an item with imperfections, and feel sorry for them, not wanting to leave them behind.. That’s was my son Elliot, he saw a small teddy bear missing a leg in a shop whilst on holiday, he said no one will buy it, he felt sorry for it, so we had to persuade the shop assistant to sell it, this went on till adulthood, he always wants to fix something even when it’s just too much to fix😢.
