I have ALWAYS loved Hades. Last year my daughter went as Mal for Halloween and I dressed as Maleficent. We tried getting my boyfriend to go as Hades but that didn't happen unfortunately 😭. I was so excited to see Hades make an appearance in Descendants as Mal's dad. In my opinion, this is the best "character" to be Mal's dad.

The last song Mal sang was also Dove Cameron's favorite because it wasn't so "produced" or autotuned as her previous songs. It was true to her voice. Once Upon A Time is my favorite song from this movie too. I do gotta agree with most of Hannah's opinions about this movie. Bal isn't my favorite ship in regards to their just teenagers. I also thought that Mal didn't want to get married in the second movie. I don't know anything about wigs and fashion, so I can't say much about that. They're so many plot holes, it drives me crazy. But, yeah, definitely agree that it is absolutely a fun and entertaining movie.

One thing I found super weird about this trilogy is how it didn't seem to age with it's audience. The first one was for a group of people. The second one was for that same group of people and a bit more mature since that group of people was older (except for the talking dog 🙄). But the third one (at least in my opinion) was aimed at a much younger audience even though the original group had gotten older. I was 11 when the first one came out which was probably the target demographic. Then I was 13 for the second one and it grew up with me in a way. But then the third one had so much "little kid humor" that it wasn't as enjoyable for a 15 year old. tl:dr the third one aimed for the wrong audience imo Cheyenne Jackson, Cameron Boyce, and Sofia Carson are what saved the movie for me.

I do love Audrey's 'evil' look and song, but I think her motivations are really thin. If they'd started playing her up as a villain in the first, it might've felt more genuine to me, but it just feels like she was the typical scorned girlfriend when she got dumped but made peace with it (happy and dancing with Mal and the others in the end of the first), then randomly snapped years later when her ex proposed to someone that wasn't her. I know they had her grandma kinda badgering her, but it still feels thin. Especially coming off of Uma being the villain in the last one, with a lifetime of rough times and resentment to fuel her actions. Audrey kinda just comes off a spoiled brat who suddenly hit an emo phase when she didn't get what she wanted.

@@jalapeno1119 Hercules is a demigod, not a god. And there's a reason why Hades would never be locked up in the mythology. He's the first born son of Kronos, the world is literally his birthright. And yeah, there's a slight delay, but everyone will die and become his subject eventually. They can't lock him up without finding someone to take his place, and given how important and powerful his position is, that would basically cause another war with all the gods vying for his power. Not only that, but the gods are amoral, they don't exist within what we think of as good or bad, they're too big and complicated for those words. The Greek Gods were never intended to be good, they were meant to be true. Aphrodite isn't just the goddess of love, the way she acts is a personification of love. Demeter is acts as the personification of nature, Poseidon as the personification of the sea, and so on. There's no reason to lock someone up for acting on their nature, for being true to themselves, both in what they create and destroy. Disney took the Greek myths and did really strange things with it in the Hercules movie, so when you start to pull at the random threads that don't make sense, it all falls apart.

Now to be fair, the second Hannah said "Evie is a goddess" I made a vow to forgive everything she said. That said, I KEEP FORGETTING THAT THIS SERIES HAS TIE-IN BOOKS PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO READ TO KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING OUTSIDE THE MOVIES. The only reason I knew Ben + Co were out of high school and Evie was his advisor was because of people on Tumblr. But Hannah is right! I love Hannah, but I feel like she was having way too much expectations for a Disney movie. The only reason why I like these movies is because I allowed myself too. Let's be real.... It's all very silly and the plots are all questionable. You just need to embrace that in the end of the day, is a Disney movie, it's going to be silly. This is not even criticism for her, it's just a way to enjoy this kind of thing. I completely understand why she didn't like it.

I kinda agree about the plot, but I loved most of the songs in this movie! Break This Down is my favorite which is probably an unpopular opinion but something about the rhythm is so addictive to me. I also love Good to Be Bad (it’s my favorite opening song out of the three movies), Night Falls, and My Once Upon a Time (mostly because I’m a musical theater major in college who loves singing it lol)

I was definitely on Audrey's side in this movie. I was so sick of Mal and Ben. Audrey just needed better motivation than losing a guy and a better redemption arc like if she would've found strength and self-esteem in her use of magic. Also, I agree, all the conflict was resolved entirely too quickly. Nothing in the movie amounted to anything more than a mild inconvenience. Old spell? Cleared up by the barrier. Involuntary beast transformation? A little lake water ought to do the trick. Like why didn't Jane just use the lake water to wake everyone up if it can dispell the curse? That would've been an interesting subplot for Jane.

I have to disagree about Evie's song. She was raised to want to marry royalty, and yet she's realized that she loves Doug... and she doesn't know if he loves her. So this kiss will prove not only if Doug loves her too, but also if her whole deviation to her own path is right or not. Plus, I love the whole 50s / 60s vibe. ; P But, yeah, the rest of the songs are meh.

Sarah has an amazing voice and it shows with that song in my opinion also you should read the books that were written based on these movies because they give so much more detail into the characters and how they became a group of friends and also Mal is in the first book at least so much more ciniving and evil. Also in the books there is a school on the island which is interesting as well.

I am of the "Descendants 3 is the worst one" faction. I just felt like Descendants 2 (my fave one) set up for some grand finale that was going to tackle discrimination and wealth disparity and... We got none. I do like the lesson that everyone has good and evil inside them but I just felt like the way they tackled the topic felt very... Shallow. And you may say that's because this is a kid's movie, but Descendants 2 never felt like that. Plus, some musical numbers felt very weird, like they were just randomly put there.

Fully agree, I love Teen Beach Movie. But, (spoilers for the second movie) Yeah the ending of the second movie has all the feminism, but tbh I don't think it's worth it if the whole first movie is retconned. Like... why have a sequel if you're just gonna completely undo the first movie (and even the CURRENT one)? What's the point of that? Unfortunately, the ending is why I never watched the sequel again. First movie though I'll watch a million times.

The first time I watched teen beach 2 I also really didn't like the ending at all but after rewatching it a second time (spoilers ahead) I realised that during the scene with the new movie 'Lela queen of the beach', Lela is still wearing Mack's friendship bracelet thereby proving that Lela and Tanner made it back to their world and the first and second film wasn't erased. The reason Mack and Brady's world changed is because Lela went back to her world and decided to change her movie which then changed Mack and Brady's world because Brady never discovered 'wet side story' because it no longer existed and instead Mack discovered 'Lela queen of the beach'. But the times that they all shared together still happened and we know this because the friendship bracelet still exists. Even tho Mack and Brady have no memory of it anymore, which obviously is really sad, I'm happy that they at least find each other again💕

I love the premise of the movie and surprised they did not go darker. One story was about a father who abandoned his daughter. Now thinking about it, they live on a small island so they should have reunited, somehow a while ago. Another story involved living up to the pressures your family forces on you. This should have been introduced with Audrey in the first movie. You always knew she wanted to be queen, but did not know why. I also would have made audrey more of an antihero who couldn’t handle the pressure anymore vs. a straight up villain. It was also about rulers who did not know what was best for their kingdom. That is dark. There is so much that could have been developed if a couple of songs have been cut out.
