I’ve always loved Amber’s rendition of this song, but I’m kinda floored by what you said about mixing the head and throat voices. I’ve had 3 vocal teachers throughout my teenage and college years, but never heard anything about mixing the voices. I used to think the crack in my vocal range was here to stay, but now I think I just had bad teachers. If there is one singer on Glee who can match Queen Amber, it's Jake Zyrus. He only played a guest role (he played a girl character), but he had, I think, three solos. "Listen" is probably my favorite. You should totally react to it. He's also covered "And I Am Telling You" on TV when he was like 12, and did so FLAWLESSLY. Definitely up there with Amber, in my opinion - though I'm by no means a professional.
