Hannah, this is NOT critisism, just a little advise from me. I was in your position a few years ago, fresh into the proffesional world in a world renouned company, doing multiple shows a week, getting thrown into all the parts I wanted, working super hard, progressing fast etc. I never stopped, always longing for the next thing and pushing myself to the extremes. It’s inspiring to watch you blossom, BUT, I just want to warn you a little bit. This year I completely burned out, I had days were the thought of getting out of bed was too much to handle, I didn’t show up at work, said I was sick, lost a lot of passion for ballet and hated myself so much. I do not want this for you, please watch the amount you are doing, rest is good and needed. Proper fuel is a neccesity. You are eating, I know that. But a salad where half the container is lettuce and you have two eggs on top is not enough. I do not encourage calorie counting, but maybe you should think about it a little. I just want you to succeed, and not have to go through what I’ve gone through. I’m getting better, but it has taken almost a year, countless hours with a therapist and nutritionist and also taking quite a bit of time off dancing. Please look after yourself Hannah, you have a long career ahead of you xx

You're honesty my inspiration. I'm a figure skater who always loved ballet from the outside looking in but was never able to do it. Your story fills me up with soo much hope and light of defiance that you can have multiple dreams and passions all at the same time and you don't always just have to choose the one. Today I brought my first pair of ballet flats/canvas (Idk what they're called😅) hopefully I can slowly but surely embark on this journey too regardless of my age which was something people always pointed out whenever I spoke about my aspirations. If you could do a beginner/intermediate routine on exercises to do in ballet flats that would be great! Thank you for being who you are x

I’m the other way around! I’m a ballet dancer but I’ve always adored figure skating. I want to try it so badly but don’t know where to start. I know I’m to old to be serious about it, but I just think it would be so fun to learn!
@ciciewang64132 жыл бұрын
Omg same! I was a figure skater my entire life until I was 13 when I started ballet, my entire training journey has been about relentless catching up but never had any regrets!

Your videos never feel repetitive. Like you said, it's your life and a lot of us can't get enough of the ballerina lifestyle 😆 And resting is part of preparing for your performance so I don't think you were unproductive at all! Also the purple in the theater was so pretty

It's so nice to see you rest a wee bit Hannah, I'm sure you'll perform all the better for it! I absolutely love your videos and personality but I feel I need to give you some advice. I had a problem with burning myself out and my body was so run down that when I contracted COVID it led to chronic fatigue syndrome. I spend half my life in bed and feeling dizzy, taking dizziness medication 3 times a day. I can see a lot of the early warning signs in this video. It first inspired me seeing you looking after yourself in the videos but overtime I have noticed you are constantly exhausted and on the route to severe burn out I would absolutely hate for you to end up like me, I really would. You deserve everything but please give yourself more time to rest, spend time winding down and sleep, rest and sufficient fuel is key. You said you weren’t productive when doing a 4 hour rehearsal that day, I haven’t been able to do 4 hours of exercise in 2 years. I have built up over time and can manage a maximum of an hour and a half. I spent 4 months bed bound but I’m now able to attend ballet and contemporary once a week. Please remember that if you’re body is fighting against you and giving you warning signs and you fight against them it will only fight back 10x harder. It is telling you these things with good reason. Look after yourself and remember rest is not a reward it’s a necessity Lots of love from Newcastle ❤️
