🙈 I love your comment about how there's no scoring in ballet (even though sometimes we convince ourselves that there is). Ballet/dance really isn't about how many turns you get. Thanks for the reminder Hannah!!

I know it's not the same thing, but my biggest transition was from a working woman to a stay at home mom. There is no coffee break, no lunch hour, and why did I even look forward to the weekend? Babies don't take the weekends off. Good on you to be able to see the differences and consciously adjust.

I know what you're saying abt the scoring system. When I switched to dance/ballet I just did everything to make sure my moves are right and better that can get better points and like always got called out for just doing the moves but there's no emotions and that was so hard

Seems to me ballet is coming from within. Although you compete with other dancers to be casted, only you know when you make progress in this art form or back sliding. RG is more like a sport that has a rigid outside scoring and advancing system in place. The system in place can be a guideline and motivation factor. Ballet doesn’t have that. You are your own motivation and promotor.

Do you turn and have better extensions and flexibility on your left side? I know that in gymnastics being a lefty is ok, but in the professional ballet world, most of the choreography is to the right. I’m a professional ballerina who had to work my butt off to be as great to the right as I was naturally to the left. It ended up being amazing because now I’m pretty even and injury free.
@HannahMartinRG
@HannahMartinRG 2 жыл бұрын
I can definitely relate. I love turning to my left but most things in ballet is to the right 🙈
@lilybethkuhn9650

I’m more lefty with pirouettes honestly. I kept bringing up my right when it should be my left- going right is bring up left foot while left is bring up right foot
@emiliaodette4756

I am more lefty to, but I have to work my butt off to do a right extensions and pirouettes, which something I am still struggling as professional ballet dancer. I am more into ballet, you don't have to have perfect extensions as long as you pick up quickly, in classical era Anna pavlova didn't had high extension and she was a legend, and thats what makes ballet so unique

The most prominent feat one can observe in a ballet dancer is her ability to stand on her big toe without any support and then rotate like a top on that. That's what is known as being gifted.

I was never a high level RG gymnast and neither will I ever be anywhere near a professional ballet dancer but definitely there are some things that needed tweaking when I crossed over! I didn't really know any ballet steps or terminology because my RG club never made us do ballet, and I found it hard to use turnout properly in retire/attitude/arabesque positions. At least the flexibility came in useful tho and I still wear the RG bun to class every time 😆

🙈i've never transfered from sport to sport like this, but i guess if i started doing ballet, i'd notice exactly these differences. I currently do aerial acrobatics, and from this video i can see it has most of the things you said in common with gymnastics. (Example: pointed feet, knees, technique..., hair needs to be tied tight, you get personal training(if it's not just a hobby and u do it more proffesionally), u do the same routine for a loong time until it's 120% perfect...)

We won gold on duet ball and gold on group with the hoop! But I believe every up has it down and today (sunday) was the down... I had individual with hoop and I litteraly lost it 4 times😂, I got 15th place, but there is like a issue about the new CoP...

This video is really good. Just by seeing the first ballet videos in the first seconds, I see, that you don’t feel it 😅 But I am really glad, that at least you try it. So many people make exactly this transition, but never get, that ballet is totally diferent 🩰 No, it’s not ‚slower‘ like you say, it has to do something to do with classic music. You don’t feel the little little seconds of this music, so you think nothing is happening, but ballet is about thous little little seconds. It’s like mathematics 🧮 Everything is counted. But if you rush, you cut this little parts of. The bone: Is really important - because it’s about the classic way of dress in theaters. It’s no gymnastics, it’s not about getting points. It’s about FEELING 🩰

Hi Hannah, I’m so glad you’re enjoying being a ballet dancer! It does seem like RG is more technically demanding than Ballet, so maybe Ballet is a little boring for you? You make it look so easy! But, clearly, you are not only a technician. Your solos are invested with your understanding of the work, and coupled with your body’s abilities, they are mesmerizing and delightful and beautiful to watch. Don’t worry, lots of dancers have trouble remembering all the steps! It’s important, obviously. You have to be accurate with the choreography. But what’s equally important is that you are finding that Dance is allowing you to share with an audience aspects of your inner personality. (The same can be said with each video you make!) That is much harder to teach than the order of steps You are on the journey of an artist. Congratulations!

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the evil in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die". BUT, mercy said "I dont want to give them what they deserve. I don't want them to be cut off from Me. I love them despite all they have done/will do against Me. I want to give My children another chance. I want them to come home and live in My love again". And love said "Jesus, God's Son, came down as a Man, our representative, suffering every temptation, pain and struggle we have ever faced, yet without sin. He took all our sins (past/present/ even future) to the cross and then crucified EVERY ONE on our behalf. Justice was paid on the cross so that we can be free from Hell's punishment, experience Gods mercy of forgiveness of sin and live in His love. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (turn away from our sin and pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through Him (not ourselves as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to obey His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and ask Him to help us in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, or struggling or doubtful, simply be honest and tell Him that. He is not intimidated by ANY sin or struggle you are facing. ANY. He hears and will answer. If we pray for Him to come in, regardless of the condition, then He will. NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. If you have any questions let me know X
