It’s a much better city now than when I knew it in the 1960s and 70s, when it was only full of boring, unfashionable and uninteresting Germans! AND, unlike Bayern, at least its people do actually speak German! 🤣

The most dangerous city in Germany

Why is that? I was maybe wanting to move there, but am trying to learn stuff about the city.

@@misternaem2103 Hey, I just wanna take some time to write something about the city since I'm living here my entire life. Overall, this city is really, really beautiful. It has such wonderful places (google them if you like to) like the Herrenhäuser Gärten which has a firework competition spread over the year, you'll see big fireworks, it has a little festival inside right now, it's for a month in summer, moreover, the Eilenriede ist very beautiful if you want to go for a walk, the Maschsee (it's historical linked to Hitler), this place has a festival once a year too, they're setting it up right now. We got two or three times a year a big festival next to the stadium for I think two weeks with fireworks every friday or saturday night. The stadium is beautiful too. The old town is nice if you like "older times". These are my favorite places to be, especially the Herrenhäuser Gärten because it's very alive in the summer. You can walk around them, you can pay a few € to get inside and see a wonderful garden and architecture, moreover, it has an "Allee" which is a few km long, many people have a picnic, play on the gras and enjoy themselves. It's truly beautiful. On the other hand, you don't feel safe all the time. What I mean by that is, that some people here in Hanover are really strange. If you want to lower the chance of seeing or being in a crime, don't go to places like the end of the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). As you might now, these places are pretty common for criminals and other bad things to happen. In statistics it says that it is the 2nd or 1st most criminal city, but as a student who lives here his entire life, I never witnessed a crime by my own eyes. Like in almost every city (exclude Dubai etc.), crime is unfortunately a part on a daily basis. But as I said, I don't go near the Hauptbahnhof at night if I don't have to (there are many clubs so it'll be full on weekends and the city "planted" an artificial beach place to sit, a basketball place to play including a soccer/volleyball... pitch to make the situation over there more attractive for normal people to be there, but I still wouldn't recommend it. Just if you need to go through that part/go to the cinema. At daytime, nothing will happen for sure. At night, don't go there. But this is common in almost every city. There is much theft regarding bikes I think, but I'm not sure. Actually, I cannot name more spots to not go to in the evening cuz I like to be outside and go for a walk at night, nothing strange witnessed so far (hopefully it stays like that). In my opinion, Hanover is really beautiful and we are "lucky" to have the greenest town in Germany. Trust me, it is beautiful. If you have any questions, just ask!

@@misternaem2103I lived there for 30 years and never had an incident. Unless you actively seek danger you will be fine like anywhere else. It's Germany, not Afghanistan. Just don't mess with drug dealers or drunk people or obviously danger seeking idiots but that goes for everywhere.

A lot of men on the street that look like they're gonna get searched a few times at the airports and women that look like mailboxes...more like Germanistan now, no? Otherwise, the old town is stunning.
