No, it's not a dumb question at all! They grow them on the roof actually, but it's not pumpkins, They are called '박(bak)' in Korea. They actually look like this→ url.kr/ue8x4v (it's just google image search link.)

Actually, it's not a pumpkin, it's a crop called Bak. And it's right to grow it on a roof.
