These work great for guitar because on guitar you can play a sequence 3 or 4 different ways effectively . Each of those different ways you will have to use a combination of Alternate economy picking and hammer ons and pull offs . By figuring out picking strategy, an d having to do all positions you start combining techniques , and stop thinking in terms of econo or alternate Obviously you will be playing single note lines , not both hands playing harmony . Tony Mac Alpine is known for using these sequences in his writing . I got the Idea from Marshall Harrison , after buying his 40$ book , School of Legato Half the book is his own personal picking and fingering exercise for hannon for guitar , Marshall , like Tony, is a virtuoso level pianist who also plays guitar for fun

Nice thought, John. I used to play viola - all about 'positions' there, too. The nice thing about positions on the guitar is the variety of tone they give you. I once had a bass guitar and used cello studies to practice!
@johnmcminn82885 жыл бұрын
@@MisterMusicarta I was just telling somebody about how Weather Report "About a remark you Made " was an Electric fretless , imitating the sound of cello to get that voice like quality Using these studies really helps break through focusing too much on one position , thanks for posting

Are the fingerings wrong on ex 2?
@MisterMusicarta6 жыл бұрын
You can if you prefer use fingers 5-3-1 in the left hand ascending.
@oooodaxteroooo5 жыл бұрын
5-3 is the correct fingering! the idea here is to have the stretch between thumb and index on both hands. this is the most biomechanical effecient way. discussed it with my teacher last week. this is how hanon had it, too. unfortunately there is no explanation in the book.

Quantos BPM (metrônomo) é ideal que consigamos fazer, segundo o Hanon? (Eu sei que qnt mais rápido e correto seja a execução é melhor)

About 60 bpm is a good speed to aim for.

No, it's not too fast, my teacher wants me to do even faster. But they should be played on two octaves and when arrived at the highest note you should turn around to come down without the interruption.
