I do enjoy watching Hans play, and I think Hikaru summed up why when he covered a game they played against each other in titled tuesday. "I went into this line because it's very dry and boring and drawish, and I felt that if we got to a situation where it just looked like it would be a draw, Hans would self destruct and try to win anyways because he tends to do that in drawn positions." Hans very much wants to win the game, and that's very entertaining in a chess player.
@knzwwwww Жыл бұрын
finally people recognise his chaotic playstyle
@MrFootofDavros Жыл бұрын
Interesting quote from Hikaru. Was that a recent game he was discussing? I can't work out if that's a shortcoming or strength of Hans. He definitely blew draw-ish games against Vidit and Giri in the Grand Swiss attempting to force wins. Maybe if he can curb that and know when to settle he'll rise very high. On the other hand, maybe he's winning more than drawing some other games (like this one) because of that unrelenting attacking style. Either way, it makes him a very exciting player to watch.
@MistaOppritunity Жыл бұрын
@@MrFootofDavros wanna say it was two or three weeks ago, but I'm not sure. Definitely recent. If you look for a Hikaru video where he meets Hans in TT, you'll probably find it. I believe it was a main line Ruy that ended in a draw.

Hans Newman is a man who previously admitted cheating, and the question of whether he resumed cheating was raised by his victory over Magnus. I would think That Vladimir Kramnik, who stated that he found Hikaru's 46 speed games winning streak against lower rated opponents "interesting" -which I think was a truly uncalled for remark [alegation), might wish to review Nieman's outstanding win results, with the thought he might find them "interesting".
