Hantek DSO5102P Overview

Today we look at a cheap oscilloscope that I picked up from aliexpress. this is the Hantek DSO5102P there are other models such as the Hantek DSO5072P and the DSO5202 these are respectively 72, 100 and 200mhz scopes.

I have two Hantek scopes, a 5000 series and a 2D42 handheld. They're both great and I enjoy using them. With the low cost of oscilloscopes today there is one out there for just about every budget. This is a great time to be in our hobby.

it really has been great i've used it a bunch of times since this video to help diagnose some small repairs. for the hobbiest like me... i'd say its already paid for its self!

Thanks for good description, Im nott working at more than kilo hertz range as hobbyist, so mostly Im interested in this models capability to transfer data to a computer. I se greit possibility in functions you showed as hobbyist that others left out that I se greit use for that I didn't now I missed earlier. Im now a subscriber hoping for a short video on the eksport to PC posibbilities also. Meanwhile I look through your clips and hope for more good gems of interest. Keep upp good work. Hey Jim thanks for taking the time to write that! When i've got my next little project going i'll see if i can get a video a little more in depth about how it works with the computer. It has a usb port on the back, and im pretty sure you can connect it to the pc and use it as a data logger, also theres an open source software called openhantek on github (but i've not tested it) which i think is compatible too!

Great video and thank you! How well does this unit display eye patterns like you would encounter when adjusting focus and tracking gains on older CD players? I heard digital scopes can have a hard time displaying these patterns. Thanks!

Hello, watching this video after having one delivered. That red screen protection thing IS annoying, but if its not in the way of anything, Im going to leve the screen protection plastic where it is until it becomes an issue. maybe then it will become easier to remove.

I chose the hantek when evaluating for myself, but this was purely because of the price to value ratio i found it better for my small hobby electronics lab :)

I would like to ask you a question if I can view the progress of very slow wave shapes such as LFO modular synthesizer LFO or an envelope used to modulate a type ADSR which is therefore very slow over a period of two or three seconds, for example.
