He doesn't die in the Manga. :) The Manga is really different from the anime, but it gives a lot more essence to the whole story, also the ending is a even better and well made. What I love in the Manga that you find out a lot more about Hao and you come to understand him :D I recommend you read it.

@@hinamonoko8183 actually the Anime followed the manga closely ...well besides some filler but who cares. The thing is they made the anime stop exactly at the, i think half-way point wich is a cliffhanger. there was a ps2 game (only Japan) wich focused on the second half of the manga....and then there is "shaman king flowers" wich focuses on Yoh's and Anna's son Hanna and endet between 2-4 years ago. Now there is also "Shaman king The Superstar" wich explains what happened to Yoh and anna in between SK and SKF + also continues the story of shaman king flowers but Superstar only puplishes a new volume almost every year (good but slow as F**k) Ps: it seems SKtSS is picking up speed and actually geting published at a decent rate now

@@Hexery_, in the anime, in addition to the other ending, a lot was changed; the personalities of the characters were simplified, and the powers were reduced. Also, many were deprived of their stories and their own arcs of development and arches of the past that were in the manga (Yoh, Anna, Chokolav, Hao, Horo Horo). Many story arcs were cut (Osorezan, training in Hell, Mu), as well as the arc of travel to The patch villages were filled with unnecessary fillers, with unnecessary characters that weren't in the manga. Namely Lily's Five, Alan. A lot of characters were cut, namely a whole group and a character who radically influenced the path of the two main characters, and also through himself revealed the details of the personality of another important character on the other hand. This is all that I remembered, and there may be even more important points that I forgot about, as well as various small details that can be mentioned for a very long time.
