Where do you think kick boxing came from? The kick part came from Asia. Before that there was a lot of wrestling that came from Greece and Boxing came from all over South/Central America. I mean even kick boxing isn't an original idea, look at Kali, Muay Thai, etc. All over Asia. They had to defend themselves from each other and Europe. Why do you think Shaolin monks would know Kung Fu. Because they had to defend their temples from destruction. It's such a long ranged style with wide stances and flying kicks because the opposition had swords. It wasn't always effective but a bow staff went a long long way. Some would say it's more effective than a sword if mastered

@@carneiro5575 They are practicing how to be loose with their punching, if they were really fighting the loose wrist becomes a tight punch right before impact, I trained with, Jimmy, Noah, and Master Hwang, trust me it's not a fucking joke, Master Hwang In shik has been teaching in Toronto Canada (Eagle Hapkido) for more then 40 years, he was the Head of the Hapkido Federation in Korea, as well as chief instructor for the association's headquarters, and has achieved 10th Dan (Highest Ranking possible) and is renowned in the World Hapkido Federation. @MajorLeague Let's take a look at the history of Hapkido, it was founded by Choi Young Sool, who came from the Takara clan, which was a samurai art form with Japanese Jiu Jitsu origins, meant to disarm swords, and fight cavalry. Among the few grand Masters that descended directly from Choi Young Sool, and attained 10th Dan (Highest Possible Rank) were Ji Han Jae, and Master Hwang Inshik. Ji Han Jae founded Sin Moo Hapkido (More traditional Hapkido), with focus on the development of Ki. Master Hwang Inshik had his own variation (which you see here),was appointed as chief instructor of the Korean Hapkido association in 1976 when he achieved his 7th Dan, and eventually 10th Dan by the world Hapkido association, he was becoming a movie star at that time, and featured in movies with Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Ji Han Jae, and many others (The Young Master was particularly interesting as he shows off his style of Hapkido), anyways, so Master Hwang left that life, came to Toronto Canada, and has been teaching here in a modest dojang@ Pape/Danforth for 40+ years now. The guys you see in this video are his students...their knowledge is coming from the source. Think about it....the School is called Eagle Hapkido. Do your research, and you can confirm all that I'm saying to you.

watch literally any other hapkido video and the answer should be obvious. This is just normal kick boxing. H pakido is a pressure point style and a very defensive reaction based style. Someone comes towards you, you respond with grabbing their hand and snapping it. Someone kicks, you, you respond with grabbing their leg, flipping them, and snapping it .

In this video you see 2 guys practicing a sport, Hapkido is not a sport, it's a personal defense martial art. @@mrbest1981 so what? That's not my point. My point is: this shown in the video is just cardio work almost. It is 2 guys fighting each other. Hapkido is not that, Hapkido consists in self defense, not a fucking brawl. And if you're saying that 2 grandmasters that maintain a relation with the founder Ji Han-Jae have no credibility you don't deserve practicing Hapkido

@@carneiro5575 Wow, ok Einstein...it's a demo video of what we learn in school, not a brawl, I mean to learn self defense, you need to fight don't you? Are you telling me there is no sparring in your school? 😂😂😂 Ask your Master about Master Hwang...if he knew anything about Hapkido he'll at least know who Master Hwang is, a direct student of Hapkido Founder: Choi Yong-sool.
