We love Ryan Hall, Y’all and his Xtra channel! (But we love you guys bigger!) So glad you got through it unscathed. We opted to stay in Clyde, TX for the eclipse, so we missed totality. I hated it but we just couldn’t trust the weather in the Dallas area. Just FYI: In Grand Prairie, TX there’s a campground called Loyd Park at Joe Pool Lake. So nice! Close to shopping and dining. Seems like y’all don’t get much time to just hang out and be quiet, but if you find yourselves in that area again, it’s a pretty nice campground. As always, THANKS HANKS for all you do for us! It truly makes our RVing experiences better! Smooches to Dexter! 🐱

SoTina, you have stayed in Lloyd Park and liked it? We rode through but were just not that impressed. However, there was a lot of rode const. in the area, and hard getting in and out. We stay at Cedar Hill State Park Due to back surgery we haven't been since we got everything redone and reopened after the flooding several years ago. We may just have to check out Lloyds Park again!

I use a 50 amp to 15 amp pigtail all the time. It plugs into the 50 amp plug on the RV then I run a 15 amp extension cord from there. It is so much easier than wrestling with a 50 amp cord when you only are plugging into a 15 amp outlet. Especially handy when boondocking and running my 2000 watt generator.

Ah the Bar Z Winery, good choice! Danette was born and raised in Amarillo. After I meet her at Disneyland, I moved from Porter Ranch, CA to Amarillo to be with her. We moved to sister city, Canyon, TX where we had our bike shop. I always got a kick out of the Chamber of Commerce brochure that said, ..."a gentle breeze flows over the plains." They failed to mention it was at 30 to 40 knots! HOLD ON TO DEM DOORS!!! lol

You’re a 5er, don’t worry about leaving later at a HH if it’s reasonable (when the open or 10ish in our experience)! Our current theory: class C’s, cans and travel trailers are in a rush and leave quicker. Class A’s and 5ers tend to go regular pace and leave after their regular morning routine.

Carl, I would really urge you to install a transfer switch for your inverter. I actually have 2 in our class B. They are fully automatic. As an engineer I did not have to learn the hard way that the inverter can't be used to power the battery charger.😊 My 2 switches work this way: The first is connected to shore tie and generator. If shore tie is connected the switch goes to shore tie, if not, the switch is lined up to generator. The output of first switch goes to second switch. If either 110 source is present, that source is connected, if not, it is connected to the inverter. The battery charger is fed from a branch circuit off the first switch, so it cannot be powered unless generator or shore tie connected. So one thing this does is power my entire 110v panel off the 2000 w inverter, but there are loads that I need to cut off or the inverter would overload. I put red and yellow labels on the breakers and turn those off if running on inverter (air conditioner, Hot water heater). (The water heater also runs on propane). I'd be happy to help you fix up Soli!

I put the fan in my camper just like you did on your fridge. Trick I did that would work easy for you is I have the fan plugged into a remote. So I can turn the fan off and on from inside the camper. The remote plugs into the outlet your fridge plugs in and you plug the fan into the remote transmitter. Got it at the local hardware store. Love the videos.

Hey Guys, just a little tip. That screwdriver you're using to fix the vent is also a nut driver. It has a couple sizes built in to it. You can pull the flat bit out and you will see the shaft is like a small socket. If you flip the shaft you will have another size and I thing there is a shaft then a sleeve which gives another size and then the bit. So you can use it on the hose clap and get a better tightening on the clamp then what you will get by using the flat bit. Happy Trails :)

Wichita Falls takes tornadoes seriously! We lived there 15 years and never saw one. A tornado watch doesn’t phase me at all and a Warning will make me flip on the tv. The hail is serious though. Hanks, you guys are the best! Two things…1. I40 is the WORST highway I have ever traveled! We went to Houston and back last year…thought we were both going to need new teeth! 2. If the dryer hose comes loose again, you could simply put 2 screws through the band clamp after tightening it, that will fix it so it won’t vibrate loose, but remain removable.

At the 5:58 mark, you can see the old battery vent, when you had AGM batteries. You can convert that vent to an outlet that you plug your 50 amp cord into. then the backside of the new plug goes directly to your inverter. Never have to fuss with that whole problem again.

Welcome to Texas! We bought a brand new F250 on a Friday evening. Sunday morning we had the worst hail storm I've ever. seen in my 57 years! About $10,000 in dent removal, and two weeks later, we got the truck back and it looks brand new again! The new roof and gutters on the house are in process! At least our trailer was in covered storage!!! Enjoy your channel! Come back to Texas when it isn't tornado season!!!The weather this spring has been worse than usual!

In 2014 we rode through a pretty bad storm in western Kansas near the Colorado border. When we checked in the camp host told us where the storm shelter was located and warned us that the weather was going to be bad. The storm was bad but never bad enough that we moved to the shelter.

On Tornados, it’s just something to watch for. They only wreck very small areas. We have a lot of “watches and warnings” but few very very few actual issues. We live in the Dallas, area. You guys were pretty close us. If you want the very best App us what storm chasers use. It’s call Radar Scope. It’s actually saved us from a hail storm we took the cars to the gas station for cover.

Thank you so much for this! We will look into Radar Scope. It's always nice to have more tools in the back pocket. We appreciate your support!

@@HappilyEverHanks pay the 9.00 a year and you will see other storm chasers post about actual weather versus just watching the “colors” of the radar pattern. You will be able to post what is going on around you as well. A value able tool indeed.

Ryan is the bomb…He works with some of the best independent storm chasers also. If Ryan says take cover its like Jim Santore knocking on your door.

A little FYI: if you remove the flat/Phillips insert from the screwdriver, the size of the hole is either a 1/4” or 5/16” socket and can be used to screw in the bolt head on the pipe clamp. I discovered Ryan Hall a couple weeks ago, appears to be more accurate than the local weather forecasters from Houston. HA!

We are currently in Wichita KS so when there are "storm warnings", we make sure water tanks are full.
