I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t drink from the RV tap. I disinfect and fill with potable water so it should be fine, but I still use bottled water for drinking and coffee.

I’ve filled my fresh water tank from all sorts of places. But I always use my own fresh water hose. Never what’s on site. I only have one Walmart inline filter. 14 years: no issues.

Hi guys, I'm your GMC "twinner". Based on the cost of a fuel pump alone I have always done two things to keep from having any problems. I change out the fuel filter at 50%, then I always use an additive to keep the fuel pump lubricated. Safe travels!

You can still check pressure with the old fashioned stick pressure guage. I have used one my whole life (68) and they work great. Everything does not have to be digital .

I had two good stick gauges, both stolen with the car. Went to get a new one, and it didn't matter if I bought plastic or metal, cheap or brand name, none of them were accurate. Most were WAY off. So I broke down, but a circular brass one, and a tiny electronic. Both agree with the electronic one that is built into my new air pump, which shuts automatically.

The correct tire pressure for trailer tires should be based on the manufacturer’s recommendation on the tire information label (often found on the trailer’s VIN plate or owner’s manual), not the maximum pressure listed on the tire sidewall. The sidewall indicates the maximum pressure the tire can handle, but using the recommended pressure ensures optimal load capacity, tire wear, and performance for your specific trailer setup.

Favorite tools? I have a whole set of 20 volt craftsman tools from impact driver, impact gun, drill, and more but one of my favorites is the air compressor. I always have batteries charging in the truck. It runs on the 20 v battery, or 110 volts, or a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug. Best part, you set the pressure you want, hook it to the tire, turn it on and go do something else. It shuts off when it gets to the pressure you set. Move it to the next tire, turn it on and let it do its thing. Love it.

A big part of your tire problem is over-inflation. Shouldn't be running at max pressure. Even most semis that have tires that say 120 on the side don't run at 110, usually. The normal range is 95-105 on semi tires. There should be an info sticker on the front driver's side of your trailer that tells you what pressure they should be, and I'll guess it's somewhere around 80PSI.
@bryanduke1
@bryanduke1 9 сағат бұрын
I agree. All tire manufactures also have a weight chart for each tire. Our rig weighs in at a little over 16,000lbs. Our trailer tires are rated at Max 120psi and I run them at 95psi. Using this chart will help you get the best results and longest life for your tires.
@armslength2618
@armslength2618 9 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I agree 104 pounds is suspicious. Maximum inflation pressure is for the maximum design weight that the tire can carry. The total CAT scale weight of your trailer minus pin weight then divided by 4 should be compared to the max weight number cast into the sidewall rubber. If it's quite a bit lower than the tire's rating, you'll have to back off the tire pressure a bit. Whatever those actual numbers are, we can only guess from here. But I know that my recommended pressure in my truck tires are way too high for running with zero load in the box.
@MagentaRV
@MagentaRV 8 сағат бұрын
@@armslength2618 his TPMS showed 125PSI when he got to the destination on tires he said are stamped 110 max PSI. 💥
@Itsa_Mea
@Itsa_Mea 8 сағат бұрын
@@MagentaRVtire pressures are measured and filled COLD. Arriving at a destination is a hot pressure and is naturally expected to be higher due to expansion. This is why written on tires is max COLD pressure.

Didn’t you add some upgraded batteries in your camper? No need to turn the truck around and do all that maneuvering, just hook the Viair compressor to your camper battery. Especially when you are hooked up to shore power, as you are most likely charging the camper batteries while hooked up right? That’s what I do with my little class B camper van!

Here ate our toys: Since we mostly dry camp in the warmer months, we really like our Renogy 1000/1700 watt output and newr Ecoflow 2000/2400 watt output. We currently use a large Hessair swamp cooler that in low humidity lowers our ambient Temps 15 to 20 f, but it can be a hassle to keep it full of water (adding ice helps it cool even more). We are saving to get the Ecoflo air conditioner. Our trusty Honda 2000 generator that we've had 14 years is also a great too. Finally we have a portable washing machine that looks like R2D2 and helpful for boondocking/dry camping.

Happy Thanksgiving keep the footage coming. For the fuel filter light, I was of a similar aspect as one of the other comments I would change the fuel filter every other oil change as opposed to the three recommended. You may have gotten some bad fuel somewhere also. Additives are a good thing especially this time of year to keep the fuel in good condition, help with keeping down condensation, and it also adds lubricant. This lubricant is due to especially I. The NE the have different blends for the seasons and the winter blend is supposedly has less lubricant in it as it is made to withstand the colder temperatures.

My favorite tool in the truck is the PTO. Capable of powering all sorts of devices, with up to 60 hp (12%) of the engine rating at slightly elevated idle. No way any 12 VDC clamp-on connected to your battery will ever come close. That being said, a 480 volt AC 3-phase pancake alternator would be nice to have, together with 120 VAC single-phase transformer.
