Funny how Dimon had better income for the most part of the game and got destroyed anyway because Allies have way more better ways how to compete with various situations.

Good Allies players have to be more cost effective than Soviets, it's how the faction works. Also, Happy executed an attack that did huge infrastructure damage and then handled the next 2 engagements exactly correctly. Dimon's income was used mostly in a reactionary way to what Happy was doing throughout the game. Did Happy get lucky with that attack (cryos at 19:00) yep, but he also did a bunch of stuff very well that paid off.

Rather buff others. Allies troops all are viable, this cant be said for other factions, both have useless or too nieche units

What you don't know, is that Dimon and Happy played lots of games (when this replay was cast), and the only game dimon lost was this one.

Allies almost certainly need adjusting (or maybe the other factions buffed) but when it comes to specifics of exactly what gets buffed or nerfed and how almost no one from different sides agrees.

@@OneSybert Yeah, that's the problem with no longer having the original devs to act as authority... There's probably a reason you get so many angry comments about aircraft carriers though. I think a majority of the community could agree on some things and implement them. In the civilization 6 community there is a "better balance mod" that is actually used competitively. I am pretty sure C&C could go the same route if players really wanted it.

I dunno man, it's in the game, but it always feels imo like abuse to use black hole armor against AA fire from air units. It looks dumb as hell too. Other than that, solid game.

Actually abilities that provide unconventional synergies between units are a good thing. And baiting your opponent to fight on that terms is a high-skill move. The only problem is that Allies' aviation is already much stronger than their counterparts.

Blueprint is simple; Soviet outplays Allies > Allies make comeback because of op mechanic (cryop, emp missile, cyrogeddon) > Allies players defend playing allies.

I'm not taking anything away from Happy's strong defensive performance, but when you are on 3 ref and your opponent (argubly the best or 2nd best Soviet player that ever played) has 5-6 refs and can't break through, you have to start doubting the game's balance... good game though.

On a elite lvl they are op, on low-high they arent, most players cant micro vindicators and cryos this well

@@Iam0ne1 i learned Vindicator's separate bomb drop in half an hour. Not perfectly but still gets the job done. Cryocopter micro is even easier: F1-F-click F2-F-click.

Good match, it is insane how cost effective the allies are, makes me think of stracraft 2 terran bio versus zerg except more extreme i think. I like seeing Dimon play soviet, he is an excellent soviet player and Happy is no slouch with allies for sure. It seems to me that the problem unit is the cryocopter but that is something i notice in these videos involving allies a good chunk of the time. Have a good day Sybert.

Cryocopter is definitely a problem unit. It’s probably too central to Allied compositions. If you don’t utilize it you don’t have a lot of good options left as Allies, you either turret push or turtle to cryogeddon.

i'm pretty sure he was using it as bait believe it or not, clump up happy''s units and then deal big damage with his v4s, while using his infantry to keep happy's army still, of course, the v4s totally missed their marks and it went horribly for dimon

Almost certainly V4 and Dreadnought missiles should be faster. I'm not sure if they have a damage buff because they're slower?

@@OneSybert Nope. Both V4 and Dreadnoughts are weaker compared to their counterparts in other factions. They are just cheaper to build, like conscripts but I find them useless in most situations. Because if you have enough money to spam 15 v4 to equal 5 Athena Cannons, And you have an army to protect those v4's (which is the intended playstyle apperantly considering how most of the units Soviets have are cheaper and works as a swarm) then you dont even need those v4's. At that point, you can make more tanks to continiusly push the enemy or some air units to increase the support. Even Stingrays to backstab the enemy while they are engaging you in the front lines. Soviet artillery is useless unless you already have a major advantage, which renders them pointless.

capturing mcv have some delay, not as instant as capturing neutral building. Therefore, when the engineer tried to capture the mcv, happy simply can just unpack it to cancel the engineer move.

First I acknowledge that Allies are really hard to play. I'm a noob that cannot play Allies correctly even in skirmishes (suck at using the airforce, and the bane of OP copter is suck in my hand, like really really suck). But really, watching this match is just like watching a bully. Still great play by Happy though, but really I cannot skip or ignore the Allies OP-ness here. Dimon is serious in this match, which is nice to watch.

If allies wouldnt that OP u think Happy could won against Dimons incredible play? U saw it yourself. All game dimon had eco advantage, he didnt let enemy use tear adv. on water he went his tear 3 but it change anything? No cause its not enough, its never enough thx to OP cryocopter, cryogeddons and turrets. Also think 2 factions tear usefulness, think Aircrafts Carries vs Dreadnoughts, Athenas vs V4s, Apocalypse tanks (not even build 1 cause they are soo useless and expensive if there is a cryocopter ofc dimon knows it well) vs Mirage Tanks. If u think these units usefulness objectively u will get how OP Allies is against Soviet. Maybe Happy is a good player maybe there is not much player here to do what Happy does u are right but remember his opponent was Dimon and he is one best Sov player on game and there was even no challenge for Happy. All game he sit in his base cover himself with turrets and attack opponent different ways. Dimon just desperitly try defend himself against his enemy at last he lost and i dont think it was Dimons fault.

You have to be better, to win as Soviets vs Allies. If two equally good players compete with each other, the Allies would usually win. There's no arguing about Allies being OP, I think even Happy himself said, that he finds cryogeddon completely imbalanced.

@@soulgamer612 Consider the comment above yours asserting that Dimon is the best player in the game (presumably able to use resources very well... e.g. when crushed most of his akula subs when they were no longer needed), then note that he lost here despite the significant resource advantage.
