In fact, the company was started in retaliation for the the founder of Dreamworks (Jeffrey Katzenberg) not being picked as the company president while he was a chairman at Disney. Shrek is a direct parody of Disney movies. The smash mouth thing happened where I live in Fort Collins Colorado. It was during an annual festival that occurs in the summer where they were performing.
