I've watched and supported the shaytards for 6 years now and I can see Shay is getting increasingly frustrated and not enjoying the vlogs & comments from the viewers anymore. It's just not the same watching any more and it's clear as day that it's more like he feels obligated, rather than genuinely wanting to vlog every day. The viewers aren't annoyed that they aren't getting a daily video, they are annoyed that Shay keeps stating he's going to do things and not following through. I feel like he needs to take the break now and find out what he loves and his passions again!

If you don't have the passion for KZbin anymore don't do it... I used to watch you every single day for 6 years. You had passion for it and your face lit up every time you brought out the camera. Like just quit, don't do it until your birthday if you don't truly want to and make us feel guilty. Shay, I stopped watching a year ago because there no longer was any passion in your eyes to vlog. Every time you picked up the camera, it felt like you were being forced to do this. I don't want to tell you what to do but I do believe it's time to hang it up. Make a video whenever you feel like it. Take months off and figure things out. Shay it saddens me about the vlogs. It seems like after you sold Maker you didn't need us anymore. In some ways I guess you don't need us to watch your vlogs anymore. Collette and the kids seem to enjoy doing them still but with you its different. It does seem that when people get money it changes them to the point they don't want to talk to anyone anymore. I can understand that people are coming at you everyday wanting something from you. Most times I don't even think you read the comments anymore. We love your family and many of us have been with you for years and will miss seeing you guys. You seem to be chasing something different you are gone away from the family way more now them before. Shay, I love you. I love you and your family. You've inspired so many people over the last 8 years, and it's been amazing to see how far your family has come. As a fan, I can see how you've grown older, have less energy, and have more kids to look after. From an outsider's perspective, I can see how some may think you're being lazy, or are money-hungry. But I know the real reason for the lack of vlogs is due to the lack of desire. You've been doing this for almost 8 years (geez, that's a long time!). I get tired from playing the Sims after a month and then I have to take a break. And yet people expect you to keep the same drive for 8 years! I want to see them do something consistently for 8 years. Be honest with yourself, Shay. You're done. You've accomplished what you've set to accomplish, you can retire comfortably at the age of 38, and want to just focus on your kids. On another note, while I know you're tired, don't blame the viewers. I'm not saying you aren't justified in your complaining, but they have a point. You've made many promises that you haven't kept, and I think the breaking point for most people was when you failed to fulfill Molly's last wish to vlog everyday for a month (I forget how many years ago that was). You have to realize that promises don't hold water if you don't keep them. I'm not saying you're a bad person, but don't make promises you know you won't be able to keep. It just makes you out to be the bad guy, when I know you are not. And complaining about it in the vlogs just exacerbates the issue. I say all of this with the utmost love. Your family has been so wonderful in my life. They kept me going through some hard times. I don't think I've ever left a comment this lengthy. Anyway, happy birthday to Daxton, the tiny fireball. I have been watching these vlogs and their families videos for about 3-4 years and I cannot explain the joys you and your family bring to me every single day. I feel so so sad that the vlogs are slowly coming to an end but at the same time it's like i cherish every moment in the vlogs that are here now. Sometime people leave such rude comments or even email, Dm them on twitter and other social media bothering them "why didn't you post you promised" and those people don't realize that sometimes they just need a break from everything. In the vlogs lately you can see that shay and even the kids aren't enjoying the vlogs as much as they used to and I really dislike saying this but it's partly our fault because they get hate when they don't post and when they do and it's just not the same but we all have to remember that we are lucky they didn't just end the vlogs without telling us. Now that I'm done writing my sad message I want to thank you and your family for the happiness, fun times, and funny moments you have brought to me at the worst and best moments of the last 3-4 years. I've been watching the shaytards since daxtons birth (how quick 3yrs have gone by-crazyy!) and loved their vlogs eversince I'm usually a silent viewer, actually this is my first ever comment-but i just felt the need to state that i'm really sad about the fact the vlogs are coming to an end, in these last six months, lets stop the negativity (u can see how shays passion about vlogging is slowly fading due to the hate) Leaving rude or negative comments in general isnt going to motivate the shaytards to continue vlogging Lets choose happiness! It's sad to see shay build up the Shaytards brand, use those consumers to build other business ventures like Trixin and others, and then abandon what made him famous in the first place. The family is solely invested in the money at this point. They are now able to live fully off these other business ventures and can fully quit KZbin. Him "taking a break for 1 year", is just a nicer way of saying Goodbye. There's likely a 90% chance he doesn't ever return. It's smart of him to do this, but majority of youtubers could care less what their fans think, as long as those fans bring him a steady cash flow.

I used to watch the shaytards back when they only had 3 kids almost daily... I lost interest in their vlogs and unsubscribed. I like to check in every now and then to see what they are up to and its just crazy how much their family has grown and changed. Its like running into family members. Like, I could go up to daxton and say "Hey little buddy! I remember when you were still in katilettes tummy!".... I dunno, its weird. But its good to see that the fam is doing good :)

I very rarely leave a comment on any of the videos I watch here on the ol' youtube machine--but I just have to say, I have been watching the Shaytards for YEARS now and I am so grateful that this family has been willing to share so much of themselves with us. Birthdays, holidays, new children, new pets, lost friends, new companies, books, clothing, their entire family--all has been shared with us while expecting nothing in return. It honestly baffles me that any viewer feels they have the right to tell Shay or Colette what to do or how to post or when to stop. Just be thankful when or if they feel like posting anything at all. Shay has been so candid in his journey and to act betrayed or even surprised that he wants to live his life the way he wants to live it is just selfish. To be clear, I would certainly miss this family if they stopped posting--but I would completely and 100% understand. We all have one life on Earth and everyone deserves to be happy. So let them be happy, or at least allow them the time to figure out what makes them happy. Be supportive, show compassion, and please just remember that Shay is a human being.

It's evident that the passion you once had for documenting your life just isn't there anymore, and that's perfectly okay. I am sure I would get tired of it too! I remember when I first started watching the shaytards it was amazing you all always brought a smile to my face I bought your mercy it was amazing. I remember all I would do was watch your videos everyday until things started to change. Maker was bought by Disney and Shay seem to not need us as much then Shay did Trixin and it seemed like all he cares about is money. Now it seems Shay doesn't want to do it anymore which is sad because we brought him this far and it's almost like he is taking this for granted. Shay if you read this I just want you to know if you don't want to do it I will be very upset and so will others but it would be better for you to stop then make these videos. They now seem forced and painful to make for you. Colette and the kids still enjoy them so I think you should really think about vlogging and what you want to do.

Also, I don't think anyone is mad for him stopping - it is just a little sad to see the passion for vlogging gone from his eyes when we saw that more in him than in anyone else for so long. His kids and his wife still exert such happiness in vlogging but you can tell the difference with Shay. That's exactly why he needs to stop and that's okay too.

To me, it's not what Shay is saying that kind of makes me upset.. It's how he's saying it. Shay and Colette both talked about the calendar and there was such a difference in their delivery. I hope Shay can be more positive with the viewers even with more serious topics like Colette tries to. I know he is over youtube but I just wish they could leave on a more positive note than every vlog having something to complain about.
