Hey, I first off want to congratulate you on writing and uploading your own story, and to wish a late happy birthday. It's always a great step to put something out there and as a fellow writer/ narrator, I'm glad to see others do the same. I recently found your KZbin channel through someone who is mutually subscribed to the both of us, when I was checking through some of the channels they were publicly subscribed to in order to gauge their interests with regards to the stories I write/ have written. I couldn't help but notice when viewing your channel that you are very open about your relationship with God, and I must say I was quite pleasantly surprised when I first saw. For some context to what I am going to ask: I personally also am of spiritual belief as well and some time ago I made a choice to bar the inclusion religion in my stories. Things like prayer, or bible verses/ references, and of course talk about God openly, are things I have included in stories simply because I don't feel it is something that needs be avoided, nor should it be. I, of course, do my best to be tactful, as in my view spirituality is simply a part of the human experience and I think the core of literature is to reflect on the human experience. So, to get to my question, I was curious to hear what your thoughts on this matter are: specifically what you think of including elements of belief, such as prayer or bible verses in literature? How do you think the inclusion of such topics can help a story? To be clear, I'm not talking about advocacy in any one direction, nor about pushing ideology or beliefs, simply capturing the human experience in literature. I know fanfiction can be seen as a really basic writing/ storytelling, and I'm not trying to sing it high praises as some sort of universally "complex" or " really deep" art. I just think even very basic stories capture certain things about life/ human interaction that we as readers enjoy. Anyway, I appreciate any sort of response or thoughts you might have, as I always love to hear other's perspectives on writing, but even if you simply take the time to read this, I am thankful for your time. How do you think the inclusion of such can help in developing a story/ character in the story. @@annefiction2273 Absolutely no problem. There's a common idea that art imitates life, which I take to mean it is a reflection of life. And given that fanfiction is a type of art, I feel in order that it reflect life more wholly it should be allowed to include all forms of what life is. Like I said, I just always enjoy hearing what others think about writing and this is a topic I've yet to cover in a video. I quite enjoyed your story and I think you did a good job on it, especially for your first, so keep up the good work!
