This brings back fond memories, I was raised on a farm in Montebello. CA and we had chickens. a cow, a pig and grew our own food with a bountiful harvest of vegetables, berries, frut. It was a wonderful life and I Thank my Mom and Dad for giving me a wonderful life !
@mikecarter88803 жыл бұрын
I grew up in Montebello from 70-99. I remember when the dairy still had cows next to it. That was actually how I discovered Huell. I was channel flipping and said, hey I know that dairy. I was hooked on Huell after that. I have been rewatching and discovering all his episodes during Covid... So many episodes, he left us a great treasure and a little slice in time.
@MountainFisher5 жыл бұрын
Oh, I'm so sad watching this knowing Huell is gone. The song just brought it home to me. I lost a son when he was 24 and I became a kinder more generous of thought since.

While great in theory, with rising populations, it is impossible to have affordable and uncommercialized chicken. Mass production farms might not be the highest of quality but at least it can provide a great alternative for a family on a budget. When you are low on funds, your cause of concern isn't whether or not that chicken was cageless or naturally bred. Not every family can afford to purchase chicken breast at $5-6 per lb.

Yudi Kurina how did three chickens ruin your backyard with poop?
@devilleus23477 жыл бұрын
Yudi Kurina why didn't you make an area in the back dedicated to them, then? my family has 7 chooks, all well cared for, in a huge fenced area in the back with a pen. They get let out to the full yard every Saturday(though, they like to run next door, which is a wild goose chase and why we penned them up. same reason the dogs have their own area outback, too.), and get chook feed with fruit and scraps every day. they dont get to scratch up the vegie gardens or anything because they have their own area.

I think calling a chicken's dust bath a spiritual experience for the chicken is some extreme anthropomorphism. I mean, it's good for them and they should be allowed their dust baths for pest control, but chickens don't go to church and they don't practice any religion. That being said, it was nice to watch Huell in something I hadn't seen before. I really miss him. He was a wonderful man.
@jmseipp7 жыл бұрын
I was raised in a very devoutly religious christian household. Just because people go to church doesn't make them religious in any way whatsoever. The biggest Hypocrites you will ever meet 'go to church.' 85% of evangelical christians voted for Trump, the most UN-Godly, SINNER to ever run for president and he STILL has their support! What more proof d you need??
@izza_ISFP7 жыл бұрын
John Seipp Totally agree with you and not going to church or believing in religions doesn't make someone non spiritual. Spirituality has nothing to do with religion.

not true that "most" chickens are kept up. stop acting like NO other chicken farm treats their chickens well. it's just not true.
