How is it that there was moonlight on Venus So, in the end, "number 1" felt like #2. Well, I guess it's OK as long as, if the make a movie of this story, he's not played by Kif-er Sotherland

Well spotted! A very good question. :) So, what does everybody think? Does this story take place in a parallel universe? Did they build an artificial moon? Are there massive swarms of Venusian phosphorescent of flying algae casting they call moonlight becase it has much the same quality as on Earth?
