Everything is normal when you're a kid. I thought schools in the US were literally run the way they're shown in The Simpsons. Lunch ladies doubling as apathetic school nurses (my school didn't even have a nurse or a cafeteria). Or the new chairs that change the shape of their bones to eliminate slouching by the year 3000.
