I currently have Eloise on my island, but got someone else for my first HHP design. I've watched several people design their first home and everyone else has gotten Eloise. I assume you get her as the first unless you currently have her on your island.

Right! I feel so bad for her. Whenever she gets upset but still keeps her cool I have so much respect for her because she could easily lose control and be rude but she's just so mature and polite about it. It must be so tough to deal with them

Lilies are also very bad for humans! They can trigger not just allergic reactions, but also respiratory distress due to their scent. I absolutely loathe lilies and hate the smell of them - and several other plants in their family, like hyacinths. Even if you love lilies, do not spend too much time in the same room as them and, ideally, do not give them to people unless you know they like them.

Don’t know if you read comments on here, but Dan could get a drivers license even is he’s not a citizen or has no green card. I have neither and I so far have gotten licenses in California and Nevada, and it seems that it’s also possible in FL. I’ve personally needed proof of residence aka official mail or bills with his name and address, passport, and birth certificate.

@@Simbecile it is! I just got my NV one this week. It only works as a driver’s license rather than an ID. On mine instead of the real ID star on the corner it says “Not valid for ID.” If he’d want it for traveling as well then I understand you waiting, but if it’s just for driving it’s definitely possible :)

I’ve always had issues being able to get Amiibo’s. I got some with New Leaf because they came with my game and they are the only Amiibos I have because I don’t feel right buying the fake ones and all the ones I do find that are from Nintendo are jacked up by scalpers.

Hey I get where you’re coming from but it’s clear that they don’t know that. Most ppl wouldn’t know the origins of what appears to just be a song from a video game. And while ppl should def respect the cultures of others I don’t think it’s rlly fair to assume they would even know kk faire had any cultural significance in the first place. Without context it’s just a random song sung by a cartoon dog in a fictional world. And naturally if they don’t like the way it sounds they’d voice that opinion bc they don’t know that it has any cultural significance, to them it’s just a bad song. Once again I get where you’re coming from but I just think you could have worded it better.

@@sleepytoons2155 maybe i could have worded it better, but the gist of my request was forethought when giving opinions. my defensiveness is the product of indigenous kinship. in a game whose content is almost entirely made up of callbacks to japanese culture, it’s not a stretch to assume the songs are too. i’m not calling kayla the scourge of the earth for not liking a song in a video game, but imo her response to it was a little ignorant, and that’s a valid criticism to have.

@@megoftheannes868 the average acnh player wouldn’t know that. I’m new to the series this is my first animal crossing game and honestly when I first heard the song I reacted similarly. I didn’t like the song and I still don’t. But I understand why someone else might. It isn’t to everyone’s tastes and that’s fine. You can dislike a song and still recognize that to someone else it’s important or that others might rlly enjoy it. I don’t expect ppl to like every song from my culture. And I def don’t expect them to never voice that opinion. As long as they aren’t directly disrespecting the culture or ppl from the culture then what’s so bad about not liking a song in a video game or critiquing it. You can also not like a genre of music or the way instruments sound and that’s also valid. My main thing with your original comment was that it came off less like you were trying to educate on the origin and more like “this song is inspired by a culture so you’re not allowed to say you dislike it even tho you don’t know that it’s anything more than music sung by a video game dog in a Nintendo game”. You can make ppl aware of the context for it and stuff but to even imply anyone who dislikes kk faire and voices that is directly disrespecting an entire culture is a bit of a stretch :/
