I am a pahadi too.. I am from upper Himachal and we celebrate Karva chauth too. It's a Hindu festival, the Katha that people genuinely read is based on Hinduism, But to each their own.. if someone doesn't wanna fast then that's okay too.. it's an individual choice.. but pahadi people do celebrate it and my ancestors did it too.

Akshay is absolutely right. Upper Shimla kay Pahadis mein pehlay kabhi bhi karwachauth kay vrat ka culture nahi tha. Ye basically Punjab and other parts of north India mein celebrate kiya jaata h. Shimla mein ye bahut baad mein aaya, dekha dekhi mein. Aur ye ek individual ki choice h ki vo vrat rakhay ya na rakhay. Hum rakhtay h ka matlab nahi h ki saari duniya usko follow karay.Akshay ka bolnay mein thoda problem ho gaya, lekin bahut wise decision liya. PLEASE don't judge him wrong. Try and Understand🙏
