Question for you Jesse, I like you live in Texas,I hit several handpays last year in Oklahoma but my losses pretty much equaled my winnings, was able to write off on federal but I got a tax bill from Oklahoma for the total amount of my W2g's for state taxes, has this been your experience? I heard you say something to that effect on here. Sure don't seem right or fair.

I know several people who live in Texas but do not pay Oklahoma tax from W2G's. If you don't plan to ever move to OK, it will likely never be a problem. I recommend having taxes withheld on your Jackpots, since your losses generally will always exceed your winnings then you can likely get a nice federal return that you never did before and that helps offset the Oklahoma tax issue.

I live in Texas, and I get the taxes back on federal taxes, never on OK taxes ALWAYS owe in addition to what they withheld at the casino. Good luck if you can get your money back. I feel if I don't reside in the state, why am I being taxed?
