at 4:20 I guess a land snail, blown on the beach. Landsnails have another feel to them, less rough and thinner. At 9:30 prior to my illness I often went to the river to scoop up fresh water mussels. Also the same rocky bottom like this. I went to the hardware store to buy just a very simple wading net on a 2 m bamboo stick. It was just a round thick metal wire with a fine nylon net. It came in so handy, I picked up dozens of the long extinct Unio crassus - which came loose from the clay bank by the river current . Combined with the side current caused by the large ships between 70 and 90 m long. Anyway, great little net.

You should do some photographs....some of the shots like the two moons side by side would make a beautiful photo maybe to even sell on your etsy page along with your other items. We go to Plum Island every year now in April for my birthday and I always have to go and find a moon for my birthday. Watching your videos makes me long to be there again! take care and happy shelling!

So happy to see you and Kim shelling again. I have truly missed you guys! Family first so do what you do best but keep bringing us Plum Island joy whenever you can. I so enjoyed the New Year adventure with you today! Happy New Year to you, Kim and your family!! Take care and stay warm and well. SC is one of 2 states with the highest flu rate right now and I have so many friends and family suffering with it. Worse than covid so stay safe in your travels and wear a mask!!

Happy New Year!! So glad you chose to stay with us! Question/ statement: out of curiosity, what helps you make decisions on which shells to keep and which ones to leave behind? I ask because I know you love your moons and collect them, but I have noticed you don't take all of them. So, how do you choose?
@PlumIslandSeaCabin9 ай бұрын
Hi! The size and color usually make the decision for me but I also want to leave shells behind for the critters that need them for housing. Thanks for watching!

Happy New Year!! No joke, I was JUST thinking about how I hadn't seen you upload anything in a while and I was wondering if you were ok. So, super glad to see this video, but I TOTALLY understand that some things simply need to take priority and there are only so many hours in a day and so much energy in a person! And I know making/editing/publishing videos is surprisingly time consuming! You owe us nothing. Take care of YOU! And Im REALLY glad you chose to not end the channel. You post whenever you can or want to, and we will be here for you! So, I do want to follow you on FB. Am I permitted to send you a friend request? (I will not be offended if you say no!).

It doesn't work. Most of the blue shells I've found turn orange once it hits the air. I've only had one or two that haven't
